Once upon a time, there were two kingdoms. The kingdom of humans, and the kingdom of monsters.

Both races ruled the land in peace and harmony, however, after a certain incident, tensions rose, and eventually, war broke out between the two races.

Blinded by fear and hatred, the humans were relentless in their fury, and the monsters stood no chance against humanity's determination.

Thousands of monsters were killed in the fight, but not a single human perished. Becoming weaker and weaker, the kingdom of monsters fled deep into Mt. Ebott.

Seven of the humans' greatest wizards cast a powerful spell that trapped the monsters underneath Mt. Ebott with an impenetrable barrier that could only be broken with a power equivalent to seven human souls.

And so, the monsters waitied under the mountain, wondering when the day would come when they would once again see the surface world.

This story was passed from generation to generation, until eventually, it became all but myth. But there still stood one legend...the legend of how people who climb Mt. Ebott never return.
