Another Bench - Part 15

Dodie woke up. It was 3am and Jon and her were laying on the cold floor with Jon's face buried in her hair. She turned over. "Hmmm." He hummed. "Jonnn." She shook him, wiping her eyes. He opened his eyes, remembering where he was. He shot up. "Dodie! Oh, my God! Are you okay? What do you need? Do y-" "Jon. I'm fine." She cut him off. "Oh...good." He said, pulling her arm to lay back down. "Jon. Will you drive me to River Lea? It's just a little bit away." She said softly, tugging on his sweater. "Wh-Yes." He said. He didn't question her. He took off his sweater and gave it to her. They walked to her car, Jon leaning on her, still not fully awake. He opened her door and got in. "How do I get there?" He asked, shutting the car door. He tried his best to drive there, he was used to driving on the right side of the road. She explained the directions as he drove and he stopped in a parking lot near the bridge. He rested his head on the steering wheel and turned towards her. "Okay. Can I ask why we are here now?" She pointed to a small bench near the river. "See that little bench. My friend loved that bench. We would drive down here when we were sad. For some reason, it made us happy. It still makes me happy." She said. He got out of the car and ran to the other side. He opened the door and grabbed her waist as she got out. They walked to the bench. "It's peaceful, isn't it?" He said tucking her bangs behind her ear. They sat down. "I'm sorry. This is silly. Can we just sit here for a while?" She asked softly. "You really think I am gonna be mad at you for running to a bench in the middle of the night?" He said, smirking. She let out a breathy laugh and held his arm as he rested his head on her shoulder.
