I wake up suddenly. Shit. I just fell asleep in a gorgeous guy's car! I glanced over at him and saw that he was laughing. "Damn," I say. "How long have I been asleep for?" He laughs and says "oh, the whole time, it's 10pm now so I'm taking you back to your grandparents". My mouth drops open. Damn! I groan. "Not really!" He says laughing "haha, I fooled you! It's only been about 5 minutes but we are here now so I pushed the brakes a little to hard to wake you up, sleeping beauty". I blush at him calling me Sleeping Beauty and apologise for falling asleep. He comes round to my side of the door to let me out. I take his hand when he offers it to me to help me down the step. I take a moment to look at my surroundings. We are in a little car park facing a small coffee shop called Shakie Beans. All around the shop are trees and the main road which we came off. In the distance, some mountains lean over the trees, casting a shadow over several rows of branches. I look at the man that I am standing next to and notice him looking at me. "The view is beautiful, isn't it?" I say, pointing to the trees and the mountains. He looks right at me and said "my view sure is beautiful. I meant what I said earlier, you really are gorgeous. You didn't need to dress up you know" I blush again

Joshua sure is making my face warm up. If he keeps this up, my head may even fall off. I giggle at the thought and he smiles at me. "I would like to see that internal monologue that is going on in that head of yours" He says. I laugh and say "oh, it's nothing interesting, I'm so not used to compliments I don't know how to respond to them!" He laughs and grabs my hand to lead me into the shop and takes me over to a booth where we sit next to each other closely. A spark runs through my body at his touch and I shiver as he moves his head close to mine and whispers "get used to it, there's plenty more of those on the way, until you get some self-confidence to match that fine physique of yours". Aware of how close he is, I say "oh is that what you say to all the ladies?" He looks at me shocked and says "there are no ladies round here that I am interested in or seeing. Yes I've had a few girlfriends in the past but I wouldn't be here with you today if I wasn't a single man. If there is only one quality to me it would be my loyalty." My heart warms suddenly. "I could tell you were single through all your blushing in our conversation and your willingness to join me this evening. No girl would willingly accept to be alone with a guy she just met and go to a coffee shop with him if she had a boyfriend because if you don't have a friendship with the guy already and you were in a relationship then you wouldn't go. I could tell you're not the kind of girl who would cheat on a guy so when you blushed at my compliments and accepted to see me this evening, I knew you were single. Hence why I held your hand on the way in here". I look at him, stunned. This guy sure is alert.

"I'm impressed by your detective skills," I say "you got all of that correct, what are you ordering?" He hands me the menu and says "I'll have whatever you're having and I am 100% paying". I hand him back the menu "no, you choose first, I don't know what the locals drink". He takes the menu and asks "any allergies or anything you really hate?" I think and say "no allergies, I'm not keen on cream though, ice cream is fine and it's ok if it's in things, but things like whipped cream and cream toppings aren't the best" I pull a disgusted face and Joshua laughs at me. I join his laughter. "I'm allergic to nuts, so I'm afraid nuts is off the menu. If they manage to get nuts in my order then my EpiPen is in my jeans pocket but I've been here a few times and I've never had a reaction and I'm pretty sure I'm still alive" He says. It's a good job I know how to deal with nut allergies. "My brother is allergic to nuts too," I say "so I've had some experience in dealing with that already".

Joshua calls over a waitress and orders 2 hot chocolates with marshmallows but no cream and ensures there's no nuts. I love hot chocolate. "So, you have a brother?" He asks. "Yeah," I reply "James. He's older than me. I also have a baby sister called Millie. Do you have any siblings?" He looks really interested in finding out about me. "I have 2 twin sisters - Rosie and Emily. Rosie is older than Emily by 2 minutes. They are non-identical. They're 18, mum basically had them and then had me! I also have a younger half-brother called Daniel, he's 5 and a little devil. When my parents split, my dad went off with a different woman and forgot about the rest of us. Me, mum and the twins struggled for ages until my stepdad Dave came along. He's a great guy and I'm happy that my mum is happy. When mum told us she was pregnant, I was so happy for her, and I really love Daniel, even though he is difficult". Woah, a life story. He must be in to me!! "Damn," I say "Sounds complicated, but I guess things seem to have settled well now!" We continue talking for what seems like only half an hour, but when Joshua checks the time on his phone, it's quarter to 10 and time to go home. Joshua insists on paying the bill and eventually, I reluctantly let him. When I get home, my grandparents are in bed. After locking up the house, I go up to my room to bed. I sink onto the bed in happiness and fall straight to sleep.
