"Ngghhh..." Aura groaned. She opened her eyes, slowly, to find her-self in a quaint little apartment. "G'morning or actually night..." said a familiar voice. Aura looked up, to see Laurence entering from another room, holding two steaming mugs. "Laurence...? Where am I...?" Aura asked. "Ha, don't worry. You conked out. So, I brought you to my place, since the medics are busy with Malachi... and Jade would hurt me if I came back to your place, with what looks like your dead body..." Laurence said, handing Aura a mug. "Wait... that means... I'M IN YOUR BED!?" she exclaimed, jumping up. In a few seconds she was across the room, her mug laying shattered on the floor. "Oh, okay, then..." Laurence said, having backed up, to avoid shards in his toes. "U-Uh... did the get the herbs!?" Aura stuttered. "Yeah." Laurence said, nodding towards her basket, which was lying on a table. "W-W-Well... thanks... I need to ready the potion for... MALACHI! OH, NETHER FEVER CAN KILL WITHIN HOURS! WE NEED TO HURRY!" she yelled, grabbing the basket and dashing out the door.
"What!? Wait!!" Laurence exclaimed, running after her. Aura was running so fast, her bare feet were a blur. She threw herself up the ladder, and leaped over to the potion stand. She plucked the Nether potion from the holder, and poured it into a bigger bottle. Aura quickly mixed the plants and put the vial over the flame. She waited for the potion to finish, and by this time Laurence had just caught up. "Why didn't you tell anybody!? Malachi could be dead by now!!" Laurence yelled. "If I told anyone panic would've spread. Aphmau would be frantic." Aura said, mixing the two liquids. "Done, let's get over there." she mewed, holding up the vial of now gold liquid. Aura and Laurence ran towards the Lord's magenta house. Zoey was at the kitchen table trying to calm a hysteric Levin. "Hurry!" Zoey cried, upon seeing them enter. Aura ran upstairs, to the boy's room, but stopped as she opened the door. Aphmau, and Charlotte were sobbing at Malachi's bedside. "Mama... I'm sorry..." said Malachi's weak voice. "No, Malachi! Don't you dare close those eyes!" Aphmau sobbed. Malachi gave one last faint smile, before his sea-green eyes closed, and his chest stopped moving.
"NO!" Aphmau screamed, clutching the boy's small hand. Laurence walked over, and put and arm around Aphmau. "Why...?" she sobbed. Aura slowly walked forwards, and placed a hand on Malachi's forehead. "Aura, it's no use... y-you were too late..." Charlotte sobbed into Garroth, who had pulled her into an embrace. "No." Aura replied simply. She suddenly started to sing, and eerie sound escaping her lips. The contains of the vial floated out, and swirled in the air around the once ghost child. "The young one's curse, another's fault. Let the pure live on, and the cruel fall. Once a spirit, that still haunts others, let this song renew the colors." Aura sang. The floating potion turned to a sweet-smelling mist, as it floated towards Malachi. It seemed to seep into the child, leaving small golden orbs floating in air. Suddenly, Malachi started to cough. "W-What... happened...?" he asked. "One second, sweetie. Sit up for me." Aura said. Malachi gave her a strange look, but obeyed. Aura gently plucked something from the back of Malachi's neck. It was a crimson gem. Everyone stared in shock. "M-M-MALACHI! MY BABY!" Aphmau cried, nearly crushing him in a hug. Levin, who must've heard the commotion and ran up, threw himself into the hug.
"Aura! Thank you! So much!" Aphmau sobbed. "It's what I do." Aura said, blowing away the imaginary smoke off her finger gun. "What did you just do!?" Charlotte yelled, shaking Aura by the collar. "Heh, my magieks ability...?" Aura said. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US THAT THIS COULD KILL MALACHI!?" yelled Garroth. "Did you see Aph?" Aura said. Laurence, who had been in shock this entire time, snapped back to. "AURA, YOU DID IT!" he yelled, grabbing her by the waist and spinning her around. "It's nothing! But, really look." Aura said, holding up the jewel. "A Teller-Ruby... so that's why he was here..." Aura muttered. "Who?" Garroth asked. "This is a Teller-Ruby. They're extremely rare, and take control of it's host. If two of these gems are linked, the host can be controlled by another human. So, someone took control of Malachi and made him eat Nether-Wart raw." Aura said, ignoring Garroth. "What? I'm so confused..." Aphmau said. "Nether-Fever is caught by eating raw Nether-Wart. Somebody wanted to hurt us, and executed their plan carefully... an illness to kill a Lord's child. Nothing could be held against anybody. The perfect murder-plan... but... they weren't prepared for an intelligent mind like myself." Aura said.
