Sacrifices. We all know them. It may be letting your little sister have the last cookie, or helping the old lady down the street for free. Some sacrifices are more complicated than that. In this chapter, many sacrifices are made. Some minor, but some life changing. But know, sacrifices cannot be taken back.

"You idiot!" Zane snarled. "You sent one to Phoenix Drop!?" he yelled. "Sir, I was ordered to send an invitation to all villages." said the female guard from our last story. Zane's rage took hold. He quickly drew his sword, and stabbed the woman. She fell. "I should've cut you down long ago..." he growled. "There's no room for idiocy on my guard." he said, before ordering another to remove her body. Little did Zane know, she'd ant one to Aphmau on purpose. This one guard, sacrificed her life, to do the right thing. Hopefully, it won't be in vain. "Great." Zane said, sarcastically. "Sir, what are we going to do?" asked Zane's head guard. "Hope they don't cause trouble. I want more guards, and if they try anything, capture them, but only if they cause trouble. Don't kill them." Zane said, a sinister look crossing his face. "I have a plan for them."

"Cadenza, is this really necessary?" Jade groaned. "Yes, you're going to a wedding, so you need dresses!" Cadenza answered, tugging Jade's girdle tighter. "I DON'T NEED TO LOOK SKINNY AS A TOOTHPICK, EITHER!!" Jade gasped. Aphmau twirled in her lilac gown. "They're beautiful!" she cooed. "I love it!!!" Charlotte squealed, running around in her turquoise dress. The boys emerged from the changing room. Garroth wore a blue suit, and Laurence a green one. "Nice!" Charlotte said, giving them the thumbs up. Garroth gave a chuckle, and Laurence couldn't help but smile. It was hard to not be happy around Charlotte. Cadenza, zipped the back of Jade's dress. "That was close! Knock before you come in! Please!" Cadenza scoffed. "What?" Garroth asked. Cadenza and Jade sighed in unison, "Nevermind." "The wedding is in two days! We need to leave now!" Aphmau said. "I got everything packed." Laurence said.
"Good, thank you Cadenza." Jade said, standing in her crimson dress. "Let's head out." Laurence said, grimly. Everyone mounted their horses, and left Phoenix Drop. The journey was easy, nothing happened. "This is suspiciously, quiet..." Jade commented. "Yeah..." Garroth said. They approached the gates of O'hkasis.
"Ah, Lord Aphmau, I see you've made it safely." said a guard, with a bow. "Yes, thank you!" Aphmau replied, playing her innocent skills. They let the group enter, and directed them to an inn, where they could stay. They went inside, but didn't rent a room. This was an In-and-Out kind of thing. No time for comfort.

Aura watched as a female servant braided her hair. The servant put Aura's long, blonde hair up into a bun, and clipped two braided strands behind her ears. Silent tears, slipped down Aura's face. "I'm so sorry..." said the servant, stepping away so Aura could see her hair. Aura stood, biting her lower lip. If I do this... Zane will leave my friends alone... she thought. "My dear, we have something for you." said the servant. "Huh?" Aura muttered. The servant handed her something. It was a small wooden sculpture of a cat. "It was wrapped in silk, and we found your name carved on the bottom." said the woman. "T-Thank you..." Aura held back tears. She recognized each knife stroke, each letter of her name. Laurence had made this. Aura clutched it to her chest. Good thing she wore no makeup, because she started to sob. "I... Let's go. Your wedding is starting soon." said the servant with a sad look. Aura stood, and wiped away the tears. "O-Okay..." she said.

"Laurence, you sneak into that castle. We get Aura outta there, then dash." Aphmau ordered. "No more can follow you. It would attract suspicion." she said, grimly. Laurence nodded. He left the building, and walked casually past guards, who didn't even notice him. Laurence spotted a the castle, and through a window, he caught a glimpse of Aura's light-blonde hair. He headed towards the castle. Laurence snuck upstairs, knocking out any guards that got in his way. Suddenly, he heard a voice singing. "Aura!" Laurence gasped aloud. He followed the sound, and reached a room. He looked inside, and saw her. Aura was in a wedding dress, sitting by a window, and sadly gazing at... his cat carving. "Aura..." Laurence breathed. She looked up, and her eyes filled with shock. "No! Get out of here! Laurence, you cannot be here! He's ri-" Aura stopped, as Zane walked in the room. "I knew you would cause trouble." he scowled. Zane's sword materialized, and he took a swing at Laurence's stomach. "NO!!" Aura screamed. Laurence, prepared for the pain, but it never came.
Aura was on the ground, blood gushing from a large gash on her stomach. Laurence fell to his knees beside her. He felt his Shadow-Knight form taking over. With one quick blow, Laurence had knocked Zane out. He scooped up Aura, and ran out of the castle. Rushing past guards, and to their horses, where the group was waiting. "Quick! Now!" Laurence said. "STOP THEM!!" yelled Zane. The horse hoofs, left dust in the guards faces, as the group took their leave.
