Even after three months, Malachi's little incident was still fresh in everyone's mind. One good thing had come out of it though... friendship. Through all the bad things that'd happened, everyone had grown closer. Everyone... was basically... one big family. And as the fates may have it... even the strongest bonds, can be cut. Now, let's get into the story, shall we?

Laurence, has just finished. He set down his whittling knives. "Man, you're skills are improving! You've made a giraffe I see." Dante said. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. And for your information, it's a cat. I'm making it for Aura." Laurence said, standing up. "Any reason in particular?" Dante said. "Well... it's the half-year anniversary of the day she got here..." Laurence answered, with a small blush. "You go, Casanova!" Dante cheered, pushing him out the door. "Wait! W-?!" Laurence started, but Dante slammed the door behind him. Charlotte and Garroth popped up from behind the couch. "He gone?" Charlotte asked. "Yup. The ship, will now sail." Dante confirmed. Laurence let out a sigh, realizing Dante had locked the door. "Well, it's now or never!" Laurence said to himself, and started walking over to the girls' tower. "Laurence, what do you want?" Said Jade's voice, as Laurence climbed the ladder. "To see Aura." Laurence said. "Heh, she'll be back in a few minutes. I need to leave now. No. Snooping. Or you will die." Jade said leaping down the ladder. "Bye." Laurence said. He looked around the room, and something on the desk caught his eye.

"Huh?" He walked over and saw Aura's sketch pad. "EHHHHHHH...." Laurence felt the urge to look inside. "No, it's wrong! But, I'm so curious!" Laurence said aloud. He finally opened it. Apparently, Aura had been bluffing about getting a Lock-Bind, because it opened easily. He flipped through gazing at the pictures of animals, plants and a few people, until Laurence stopped. He looked down at a charcoal drawing... of himself. It was like looking in a mirror. Aurora's cursive hand-writing, was a poem written at the bottom.

From his crystal blue eyes, to his light brown hair

Every moment I'm with him, I can't help but stare

With a caring heart, a gentle touch

It's his hand I always long to clutch

But I know deep down he can't be mine

It's just not woven in the Fate's twine

Nobody could ever love a monster like me

That's just my darkened reality

Laurence stared at the poem, his face red. He didn't hear someone ascending the ladder until it was too late. Laurence turned to see Aura standing there. The pad clattered to the floor, as Aura leaped down the ladder, and ran. "Wait! AURA!" Laurence called after her. He ran after Aura, but she was fast. Laurence followed her out the gate, despite the fact she was bare foot, and it was nearing midnight. "Aura, wait! Please!" Laurence called. The meif'wa couldn't see through the tears, flooding her eyes and cheeks. Aura didn't notice the pair of glowing eyes on the dark path. "Aura! STOP!" Laurence called, seeing the Shadow Soul near her. Aura didn't respond, but stopped as the spirit gave a screech. It raised it's arm to swipe at Aura, but Laurence stopped it. His sword had somehow materialized, and was embedded in the Shadow Soul's chest. It shattered into dust. Aura stood frozen, tears still spilling from her eyes. The now Shadow-Knight Laurence, threw his arms around Aura. She didn't move. "Aura, why didn't you just tell me...? But, I should tell you as well... I-I-I lo-" Aura stopped Laurence. She gave him a harsh shove away. "No! No, no, no, no, NO! I refuse! I will not fall in love again, just to have that love drowned, ripped apart, then thrown on the ground, as if nothing! Plus... you could never love an abomination like me..." She said, her eyes beginning to change.

The purple smoke swirled around her face. "What? Aura, your eyes-!?" Laurence shouted. "GET AWAY FROM ME!! I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!!" Aura was sobbing now. "Aura, I-" Laurence was cut off again. "NO!! JUST STOP!! DON'T FOLLOW ME!! I WILL NOT RELIVE THIS NIGHTMARE!! You'll be safer anyways..." Aura said. "What!?" Laurence exclaimed. "ZANE IS GOING TO KILL ALL OF YOU TO GET TO ME!! I WON'T LET THAT HAPPEN!!" she sobbed. "What!? Why didn't you tell us!?" Laurence asked, his eyes widening. The smoke around Aura's eyes was flowing faster, and growing bigger. "Because, if I did... he would've killed you faster..." Aura said. "What!? When did he even-!?" Laurence stopped. "LAURENCE!! STOP!! And... don't follow me. I love you." Aura said, before turning, and running. "AURA!!" Laurence cried. He fell to his knees, as it started to rain. It poured, and Laurence's brown hair stuck to his face. "Why...? Why didn't I just tell her...?" Laurence said, tears joining the rain running down his face. "Laurence? Are you okay?" said a voice. Laurence felt a hand on his shoulder, and looked up to see Garroth. He'd seen Laurence, after walking Charlotte home, and went to him, despite the downpour. "Brother?" Garroth asked, crouching down next to Laurence. "I let another one get away..." he muttered.

"?" Garroth grunted. "C'mon, let's go home, and get dry. You don't need to tell me." Garroth said. "N-No... Well... Aura's gone." Laurence said, as Garroth pulled the once confident young-man to his feet. "Don't worry. She'll come back." Garroth said, as they walked inside. "Laurence, you're still in Shadow-Knight form." Garroth added. "I can't turn back... I already tried. Probably emotions or something.." Laurence said, praying Garroth would think his tears were simply rain.

Aura ran, the cold rain droplets feeling like tiny spears on her skin. She veered off the path, and slid down the muddy river bank. "Ow..." Aura muttered, the cold water making her numb. She heard footsteps, Flomp, Flomp, Flomp. The sound of boots, squishing in the muddy bank. "?!" the person seemed surprised for a second. Aura struggled her eyes open. "Wow. Never seen eyes like that before..." muttered a deep male voice. The last thing she saw, was a man, wearing a red mask, and black hoodie. Then, she blacked out.
