Chapter 24: Secrets Revealed

Rowan's P.O.V

I had made a HUGE mistake. I was pacing back and forth hoping Corey wouldn't tell Sabrina. Who am I kidding? Of course he's gonna tell Sabrina. He loves her. Just then I heard a knock on the door. It was Sabrina. Just my luck,
"Hey! I wasn't expecting you. What's up?"
"What's up? Idk, maybe my best friend called my boyfriend a cutie?" She growled, "What's wrong?" She asked more gently. I sighed,
"I'm actually not sure..."
"Row?!" She whined, "You're falling for Core aren't you?" I looked away from her view, I am so ashamed.
"Well, sorry, he's my baby and I love him. But, I don't blame you. He's super cute and sweet and-" I had to laugh. I threw a pillow at her,
"Sab, this is serious! What am I gonna do?" She thought,
"I don't know Row." She stroked my shoulder, "Obviously, you have to get him off your mind cuz he's mine...I'm not sure how though." She was right. I did need to stop. After all, he was her boyfriend. I just didn't know what to do. He was cute and I was really starting to like him. But, me and Pey's date was tonight so I was hoping that would get my mind off of him.
"Thanks Sab. And sorry for crushing on your boyfriend. I just can't help it..." She laughed,
"I know right!" She patted my knee and shut the door behind her.

It's been about 3 hours since me and Brini's talk. I'm so glad she didn't completely flip out, like I thought she would. I was getting ready for me and Peyton's date. A simple dress and some flats. Even though we were staying in the house, I still wanted to look nice. I heard the door bell and quickly fixed my hair, then ran down the stairs to open the door.
"Hey." Peyton said, flatly. Well this is awkward already...
"Hey." 

Peyton's P.O.V

We sat on the couch and started watching the movie. I put my arm around her and pulled her close. I kept moving my arm to a diferent part of her body. Her shoulder, her arm, her waist, something just didn't feel right. I don't know what it was, it just felt....weird.
"I have to go to the restroom." I whispered. I had to wash my face and think about what just happened. I don't feel the same way I did. I don't feel the butterflies in my stomach, or blush when she compliments me. Actually, now that I think about it, she hasn't complemented me in a while. What was happening to us? I couldn't stand to think of us separating, but at the same time, I REALLY wanted to be free from her and I know that sounds horrible, but it's true. I don't know what to do. I didn't want to break her heart....

Rowan's P.O.V

While Peyton was in the bathroom, I thought even more about what I could do. I didn't feel anything towards him anymore. I made a list of pros and cons for if I broke up with Pey,
Pro
I wouldn't feel guilty anymore.
Con
We could lose the friendship we had.
I didn't know what to do. Peyton came back and sat down. I quickly put the list away. He paused the movie,
"We need to talk."
"I agree."
"Row, there's something I hate feeling, but it's there."
"I think I have the same feeling. Who else do you like?" He looked shocked,
"So you do have the same feeling?"
"Yeah...I'm kinda crushing on Corey..." He looked down,
"Yeah, I kinda like Brini..." I felt my cheeks get red.
"I guess I should probably leave?"
"Wait. I still want to be friends Pey."
"Yeah me too." He smiled. I watched as he turned around and walked out the door. I felt tears coming. Even though I felt the same way he did, it still hurt knowing that I didn't satisfy what he wanted, so he needed to crush on another girl. And that girl happened to be....my best friend.
