As I drove down the road my phone went off and I put it on speaker.

"Yato! Yato, are you there!" Berry yelled.

"Relax, Berry... I'm just heading home," I said.

"Don't lie to me, Yato!" he snapped.

"Really, Berry, I'll be there soon, if this traffic gets moving."

"Yato, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Berry."

"I heard your brother was in and y'all had a scuffle."

"That's all it was, Berry...a scuffle."

"If you say you're fine...I trust you, talk to you later, bye."

As he hung up I pulled up to the sidewalk and opened my door. I was at the site of the accident looking around. Everyone was already gone and the crime scene was blocked by tape.

"No way this was an accident and no way Nakamuras' dead...it's too soon for him to die..." I said, trying to convince myself.

As I was deep in thought a man across the street walked drunkenly, I could smell him from here. As he slowly made his way down the block and turned he dropped something. I was going to say something but I kept quiet and went to grab it.

"Probably nothing important," I said.

As I unfolded the piece of paper I dropped it in seconds and began running down the street after the man.

In the wind the paper revealed itself to be a note, "Nakamura is doing just fine, Love Jimmy 😘"

I rushed down the street as Jimmy turned the corner. I saw him smile when he turned. I dashed at full speed and cut the corner as sharp as possible. As I took another stride I saw him at the corner smiling as I ran right by him. I forced myself to stop and nearly fell from the momentum. When I looked to the corner all that was there was a note on the wall stuck there by a letter opener.

"So close," It read as I crumbled it up and threw it to the ground.

"I swear, I won't let you down... Nakamura."

That night as I slept I had a nightmare. I was speeding down the road with more cops behind me going just as fast. Everyone was following me as I lead them somewhere. The road was empty with no traffic or life in sight. Finally, a singular building appeared in front of me. It seemed to call to me and send off a strange noise that was a mix of screams and laughter.

As I got closer, I noticed more and more cop cars vanished into nothing as the screams from the building got louder and louder. I reached the building and jumped out of my car, however, only I stood in front and the screams had completely taken over the laughter that was once there. I ignored my bleeding ears and slammed through the door and once again found myself in a room covered in different shades of reds. I stepped forward and I felt a squish under my foot when I stepped on an organ.

I jumped back and that's when I noticed the room was full of my fellow cops splattered everywhere and ripped to shreds to an indistinguishable form. I tried my best to stay calm and breath collectively but that's when I saw a body mangled and beaten. I couldn't help but feel my heart sink down into the abyss of my soul. Everything went silent the moment I looked at the body. Each part of the body was twisted over and over until it was nothing but pieces of flesh hanging by a thread.

"It can't be..." I said as I got closer, now ignoring all the organs and bodies I stepped on.

"Ya....to," the body said to me.

I looked up to it and tried to find words to say.

"Don't worry...." It said. "It's.....fine pa-"

Before the body could say anything its head began twisting and twisting until it hung down limply. Each part then began falling off until all that was left was a torso and a head.

"Partner," the head said before it fell off and rolled to my feet.

I continued to look at the torso before it fell. I slowly bent down and picked up the head, hugging it like a mother with a baby. I laid on the ground as the warm liquids around me covered my body. The laughter began to slowly return as I clutched the head even harder. I tried to zone out the laughter but that's when I looked at the head to see it was screaming. I tried to quiet it down but it only got louder and louder.

"Please.... stop," I said tearing up.

"You did this....you did this..." it said as the laughter and screams mixed.

"YOU DID THIS!!!!" the head said, as I finally saw its face, was Nakamura. I screamed at the top of my lungs as I jumped out of my bed and slammed my head into my hands as I burst into tears. A man smiled as he heard my tears through a wiretap somewhere in my house.

"Don't break yet, Yato...I'm having so much fun....and who knows...what tomorrow will bring?" he said laughing in unison with my screams of agony.
