"How you holding up?" I asked frantically clicking through file after file.
"Just reached letter N!" Shina reported going just as fast.
"Any news Cindy?" I asked.
"Everyone is still checking out, we got nothing!" She blared.
Six days have now passed and little to no real progress has been made.
Jimmy is still far from cornered and it seems time is running out.
"Four days left, let's speed it up!" I suggested.
"We can't, the cops can only work on so many people at once!" Shina commented.
"Not only that but we still got new files coming in daily, it's just too much!" Cindy added.
"They continue to hunt......but little do they know I'm the one who will come out with a kill" Jimmy cackled looking on from the shade as the cops shadow person to person.
"How many left today?" I badgered.
"Six, It seems our daily flow is done" Cindy sighed.
"We can't stop yet, we can't stop ever, not until he's paid for his crimes," I said to myself.
As I clicked on my next file my screen went black.
"It died?!" I gasped.
Shina's did the same and then Cindy's.
"What's happening?" I yelled.
"Come in come in! Can you hear me?!" Shina shouted into her headset.
All she got back was some scattered voices and a lot of static.
"Loud and clear honey!" A voice responded into all our headsets in a singing tone.
"Seems you have exceeded your minutes please come and pay up front for more!" The voice stated like a sells girl as my laptop flashed back on.
Jimmy's huge grin covered my whole screen before my eyes went red with rage.
"Wait We still got four days?!" I gawked.
"Relax Yato I haven't even said anything".
"What do you want?!" Shina scoffed.
"Oh, my who's this chick?! She's hotter than your last partner, in more ways than one..." Jimmy mocked.
"Answer the question!" Shina yelled again.
"But feisty all the same" Jimmy said smirking.
"I merely wanted to stop by and maybe drop a few clues for you, would you like that?" He asked.
"What are you playing at?" I asked.
"You don't think I see it? All your cops eyeballing the vendors? It's more obvious then you think and frankly it's boring" He yawned.
"If you think you can catch me by looking for some suspicious movement then I'm rather disappointed, such a childish plan for such a smart detective" Jimmy went on.
"So this is him?" Cindy uttered looking at the computer.
"Cindy long time no see!" He greeted, popping a party popper.
"He looks just like him....it's sickening".
"Don't hate me just cause you're losing, it's not becoming".
"You can keep your clues to yourself, you may think you know it all but that's exactly why you'll lose, planning things out is one thing, but working off of it going just that way is a major flaw and I plan to beat you as soon as I get that opening" I announced.
"That sun sure is going down fast" He sarcastically pointed out, looking up.
"Not nearly fast enough for a freak like you!" I hissed shutting off my computer.
The static in the headsets soon vanished and I got the voices of our men back.
"Can you hear me? We were hijacked, is everyone back on?" I asked.
"If he hacked onto our frequency does that means he's been hearing everything?!" I thought to myself.
"It can't be he said nothing about the files, he must have just got in" I countered.
"We're switching over to frequency three, make sure it's secure!" Shina ordered.
Somewhere else on a tablet Jimmy lost the frequency and was left with no luck "You're no fun Yato...none at all" he gibed as he washed his hands of some fresh blood.
"I want some cotton candy!" A boy whined.
"Seems I have a customer" he chirped putting on some new gloves and heading to the front.
"That concludes day six of the festival folks, make sure to stay around until the very end! Don't want to miss the big finale!" An announcer gushed out as everyone left for the day.
"Another day gone and we still are no closer to finding Jimmy" Cindy rasped.
"I wouldn't say that we may be going slow but progress is progress, it's only a matter of time" I reassured.
The next two days rushed passed us faster than excepted. Each day we switch frequencies and got ever so slightly closer to Jimmy.
"We got one more day, let's make it count!" I pumped everyone up as we all finally got through to our last files.
"We'll be done by one, he can't escape this time!" Cindy smiled as we got to the end of our files.
"It seems we have a problem" An officer reported.
At that moment, on all our computers a warning alert popped up.
"Serve storm incoming, stay indoors."
"What rotten luck..." Jimmy hummed smiling as he saw everyone being evacuated.
"This ruins everything, without the festival happening we can't continue!"
Shina yelled. With less than twenty files to go we had to call it for the day.
"It seems we'll be hit within the hour, it will be a rough storm with high chances of flooding but it will be a pass by, tomorrow won't be canceled" Cindy stated.
"He couldn't have planned this, there's no way!" I screamed.
"Luck just isn't on our side," Shina said.
"I had him! But yet again he slipped out of my fingers!" I yelled.
"We're not done yet, this may be a setback but we still got a chance!" Shina shouted.
"If I remember correctly doesn't someone work best under pressure?" Cindy commented.
"This....may be a little more then I can take" I coughed.
The two girls began to laugh.
"You're not alone Yato, never forget that," Cindy said grabbing my hand.
"You're such a wimp in real life, to think I use to look up to you" Shina laughed grabbing my other hand.
"How about we get a bite to eat?" They suggested, smiling at me.
"Yeah....I would like that".
As the storm began Jimmy looked out a window at the heavy swaying of the trees and havoc of the water.
He began to imagine the waves as crowds of people running away and the trees as me and my team being thrown back by the explosion.
"I hope tomorrow will look just as beautiful..." He drawled dragging the dead child and parent to the pier and throwing them over.
