in case you've managed to completely forget the last 30 chaptered story 'midnight man', i'll wrap it up for you.

weird that i could've just written this rather than wasted time writing the whole story.

basically josh works the night shift at a gas station (they have those?) and tyler's an insomniac with a weird attitude. tyler always wanders in at exactly midnight to buy the same thing he buys every time he goes in there, and it peaks josh's interest.

his interest is further peaked when tyler wants to go on a ride to the middle of nowhere with no explanation.

later he and the aloof tyler joseph go on a stroll down to tyler's job at a bookstore near josh's workplace. he goes inside to 'straighten things up' and josh feels someone's watching him.

surprise.
someone is.

there's a man in a van loading up a dead body, which josh just barely catches sight of. he explains this to tyler who's acting way too calm and laughing it off.

totally sus.

so josh leaves tyler and has himself a nice lil' breakdown. eventually his friends convince him he's overreacting, and he goes back to tyler. then he goes to a party to get high! but

uh-oh!

turns out the weed was laced. josh sees a man staring at him from the forest, and he's holding something glinting in his hands. (it was implied but never explained so, here ya' go, it was a bloody knife.)

his friends all assumed he was just trippin' out from the drug and just needed some rest. so, like any smart minded individual, josh went straight to see tyler. they banged and josh told him he loved him. tyler flipped his shit and got really sad suddenly, driving him to tell josh a story about how his mother was brutally murdered. sad sad, and tyler loved him back.

flash forward a while, josh is watching the news with tyler and catches the report on a boy named kellin who was murdered and dragged off to the river. tyler looks shaken about it which is extra sus, and then he leaves.

total sus 2

so josh immediately assumes the worst, but comes back to tyler eventually. flash forward some more and tyler's ex girlfriend jenna is introduced and tyler reveals  they as a team kill people.

murder case solved.

many things happen after, not that many of them are very important. really the only notable thing is just that tyler made josh kill a man & confesses that he killed his own mother.

weird.

after all that drama is settled, tyler asks josh to marry him.

actually he asks josh to promise to marry him.

then josh killed a girl right as he fucked her to the point of orgasm outside the party his boyfriend threw to celebrate their promised engagement.

extra weird.

so anyway, if you havent got the gist, josh starts acting really strangely. he has his reasons of course.

turns out josh is a psychopath with borderline personality disorder who killed his therapist (or is she technically a psychologist?) the second he felt like it. 

pretty gruesome eh? but you don't remember it getting any worse... right?

wrong!
here's the real kicker.

he planned to kill tyler from the moment he first saw him.

and josh gets his chance to

after one of his close friends, matt, nearly tells josh he's in love with him and runs off, leading josh to the spot where tyler has just murdered all three of his best friends (matt included) in cold blood.

josh calls the police which leads to a fight between him and tyler. eventually tyler sees the fear, and recognizes what he's done. he's not a sociopath after all.
tyler picks up the phone to tell the police what he's done. he confesses to every crime he's ever committed and asks josh for just a few final moments of their love and happiness and blah blah blah.

josh grants him his last kiss, and takes advantage of the proximity to repeatedly stab tyler in his stomach.

he fled immediately.

911 officers are too lazy to really figure out what happened to tyler, so they just make up their own story.

lucky for josh and his two new accomplices.

oh did i forget to mention that tyler's BROTHER was the guy with a body in the van and the man stalking josh at his party? my bad.

oh yeah, you know how i said josh stabbed tyler to death?

right, well, tyler's alive.
