Chapter 3

Maya's POV

Me and Riley is currently having breakfast. Today's the day riley tells Lucas about her real feelings. Hope it goes well.

'So Riley your friends are coming with us to Philadelphia?' Matthews asked Riley, 'yep' she's obviously too nervous to talk to anyone right now.

'Maya, are you gonna stay with us or your parents?' Matthews asked me eating his smash potatoes, 'oh Shawn and Katy are coming too?' Topanga asked him 'well you know me, I can't spend my summer without shawn' he said to topanga, 'obviously' topanga said laughing.

'Well they never mentioned about that so I'm gonna stay with Riley' I said to Matthews, 'YAY' Riley out of nowhere yelled, I looked at her with wide eyes, I didn't know she was paying attention to the conversation 'there you are' I yelled back pulling her for a hug, she giggled. I was happy cause she was not herself since we woke up.

After breakfast me and Riley went to topanga's to meet Lucas. When we got there he was already waiting for Riley.

'Riley is everything okay?' He asked her immediately after he saw her, 'um we need to talk about us' Riley said trying her best to avoid eye contact with him.

'Riles go out side and talk I'll wait here' I said to her giving her hand a gentle squeeze, she nodded and took Lucas' hand and dragged him outside.

After they went outside I got a text from Zay

From Z : where are you?
To Z : at topanga's
From : ok, I'll come over.

Riley's POV

I dragged Lucas out of the bakery to the outside table. We both sat down and Lucas is currently waiting for me to start.

'Ok Lucas I want you to be completely honest with me' I said to him, 'promise' he said taking my hand. I cupped his face and kissed him.

Nothing. I felt nothing while I kissed him.

I pulled away 'tell me what you felt' I said to him, 'I-i don't know' he said not admitting whatever he felt. ' please tell me, you promised remember?' I practically begged him, 'nothing' he whispered, 'what?' I asked just to make sure what I heard was right. 'I didn't feel anything' he confessed finally looking at me.

'I didn't felt anything either so I guess we both admit that the spark isn't there anymore' I said to him, he just nodded. 'Lucas I need to tell you something' I said to him, 'you can tell me anything Riley' he said. I took a deep breath

'I love you but not in a romantic way. I'm in love with someone else. I'm sorry I took so long to realize that' I confessed, his face was emotionless.

'Actually Riley I thought I loved you too but I don't well not in that way' he said , that made me feel reviled.

'So we both agree that we should break up?' I asked him, 'yeah' he said giving me a smile. We both stood up and I pulled him for a hug, 'I love you Lucas' I said to him as I pulled away, 'I love you too Riley' he said to me. 'Okay let's go and tell everyone about this'

Maya's POV

After Riley and Lucas went to talk, Zay showed up and we're currently waiting for them finish their conversation.
Riley and Lucas finally came inside, it seems like it went well.

'Took you two love birds long enough' Zay said obviously not knowing what's going on, 'actually we're not love birds anymore' Lucas tells him 'what' Zay asked him 'we decided that we're better off as friends' Riley said taking a seat beside me, 'as long as you both are happy I'm okay with it' Zay tells Lucas patting his shoulder.

'Where's Smarkle and Farkle?' I asked Zay 'oh they're spending the day with their families' he said to me, 'oh I forgot to tell you guys we're going to Philadelphia day after tomorrow' Riley said.

After hanging out with them, me and Riley went home. We're both currently sitting on the bay window.

'So you ready tell me who the lucky guy is?' I asked her giving her a smirk, 'I need some time, you okay with that' she asked me blushing 'of course' I said to her.

'Life is changing' she said to me all of a sudden , 'scared?' I asked her 'nah I got you' she said pulling me in for a hug. 'I love you peaches' she said giggling hugging me tightly, 'I love you too pumpkin' I said.

Life is indeed changing, but as long as I have my best friend with me I'm all good.
