It was a few hours into the ball, Yoongi and his parents had already greeted all of their guests, which always annoyed Yoongi. He hated having to be nice to the people who he knew, would just turn around and completely tarnish his name to other people. It was partly because he was probably the only prince who didn't want to marry and because he had artificial coloured hair. Yoongi shrugged, his liked his gay, mint haired self, thank you.

The King nudged his son, who was sitting idly by on the expensive seats next to him.
"Yoongi, go speak to Isabella at once. I'm sure she's awaiting you." The prince rolled his eyes but stood up anyway.
"Of course." He mumbled, making his mother frown.

He slowly made his way over the dark haired princess, her olive skin complimented by the gold gown she was wearing. She was beautiful, sure, but not his type.

He took the liberty of sitting on the empty seat next to her, smiling shyly at her. Regardless of being a prince, a person that had to speak to many, many people, he was still as awkward as anyone.

"Hey, I'm Yoongi." He greeted, his hand reached out to shake hers. Laughing, her hand reciprocated his.
"I know, we met about 15 minutes ago." She teased, "You're the prince, I'm supposed to marry." Her Italian accent rang through her words.
"And you're the princess, I'm supposed to marry." They both tried hard to mask the discontent they felt, but to no avail; they both still saw the hidden sadness through each other's smiles.

"What do you say we run away so we don't have to get married?" She suggested, smiling solemnly while looking at the cup of water in her hand. He laughed and nodded his head in agreement.
"I'll pack the stuff." They both laughed wholeheartedly.

The King watched fondly from across the room as he saw Yoongi and Isabella laughing together.
"See, honey, I told you they'd get along." He beamed happily as he turned back to speak with the important men that Yoongi always forgot the names of. The Queen only frowned at her husband, if only you knew.

After a good half hour of talking to Isabella, who actually turned out to be a pretty chill person, much to Yoongi's surprise, he excused himself.

The Prince walked away from the ball and swiftly made his way out of the event and to the private balcony, only his family and a select amount of the servants were allowed out there.

Upon exiting the warm household, Yoongi's body was greeted by the cool, crisp breeze of the night air. He walked towards some seats that he happened to choose out himself, needless to say, it was one of the only places where Yoongi felt relaxed. As he was making his way, he noticed a shadow sitting on the seats, he heard a soft voice faintly singing along to a song that he knew he recognised, but he couldn't quite place his finger on it.

The Prince walked closer and realised it was Jimin, who was absentmindedly scrolling through his phone while singing softly.
"Jimin?" Yoongi called out, making the younger boy jump up in surprise. He turned around and bowed,
"Oh, Your Highness, you scared me. I was just on a break." Jimin stayed still as the Prince moved to sit on his intended seat.
"You have a good voice," Yoongi muttered as he tried to get himself comfortable on the cold, metal seats.
"Ah, thank you," Jimin smiled sheepishly as he felt his face warming up significantly, making him automatically face the floor. He shyly rubbed the back of his neck as he felt Yoongi's potent gaze on him.

"I really don't understand why you're always so tense around me, Jimin." Yoongi pressed, there was a slight hint of a frown on the corner of his lips. Jimin looked up slowly and stared quietly for a few moments, trying to think of an appropriate answer. He searched his brain for a coherent sentence and he eventually came up with an answer.

"With all due respect, Your Highness, am I really supposed to act any other way? You are a prince after all..." At his response, Yoongi nodded,
"Very true, however, I'm still human, am I not?" He paused, expecting Jimin to say something before he continued. When he got a timid nod from the younger boy, he carried on speaking.

"Exactly, I want us to become close with each other, Jimin. You know, how normal friends are." Yoongi proposed, inching closer to the other boy. Jimin's eyes widened,
"What? Your Highness, I don't think I'm allowed to be friends with the people that pay me." He sighed.
Yoongi rolled his eyes,
"I knew you'd say something like that. Come on, Jimin, why wouldn't it be allowed?"
"No offense, Your Highness, but I can't really imagine ever going to your room for a movie marathon to casually hang out." Jimin sassed, slightly becoming more confident in his words.

Yoongi's eyes sparkled, as if Jimin had just said the most brilliant thing in the world. He clapped his hands together,
"Then that's what we'll do! Come to my room tonight after the ball has finished and we'll watch some films." He stood up, looking smug since he thought that he had left the servant no choice.

"I'm sorry, but Seokjin, I and some others have to tidy up the hall after the party's over- King's orders." He bowed, almost instantly, the smug smile that was once on Yoongi's face completely turned into a defeated expression as everyone knew that the King's orders trumps any one else's.

"Very well, another time then," He smiled, "I do have to return to the ball though, I have some business to attend to. Excuse me." With that, Yoongi walked away and re-entered the event.

Jimin just remained seated as he let out a deep sigh, why did that feel so awkward?
