"Your Highness, your parents wish to see you in the dining hall." Yoongi heard the soft, respectful voice of his parent's hired servant informing him.
"Thank you, Jimin." He smiled, his eyes roaming over the smaller boy's figure. He had only started a few weeks ago, however, Yoongi already preferred him over the other servants. Jimin nodded and walked out of Yoongi's large bedroom.

Yoongi frowned before walking out to greet his parents, what did they want him for now?
As soon as he entered the dining hall, he was unfazed to the stares from his parents who were sat on the most expensive set of wooden dining chairs you could imagine.
"What?" He mumbled,
"Yoongi, you know I hate it when you mumble." His mother, the Queen, frowned, the creases around her mouth and forehead becoming more prominent.

Yoongi hung his head low and rolled his eyes in a way so they wouldn't see, he loved his parents but he was so done with them sometimes. He pulled the chair back and sat, awaiting what they were about to say.

"Anyway, we have called you here to discuss matters concerning your marital status." His father, the King, spoke.
"What do you mean?" Yoongi's eyebrows furrowed.

The King and Queen shared a look of uncertainty,
"Yoongi, you have to marry." His mother said, her soft way of speaking was nothing unusual to Yoongi.
"What? We've always agreed that I didn't want to!" His voice was rising against his will.
"Yoongi, sit down." His father demanded, instantly making Yoongi shut up and sit back down respectfully.

"Your father has been trying to come up with a proposal for the King of Italy, so far nothing's convinced him. Your father wishes to become allies and the only way the King would accept was if we married you and his daughter, Isabella the Princess," she explained, her expression showing nothing but regret.

Yoongi let out of breath that he hadn't realised he was holding, and leant back against the chair. He buried his head in his hands as tears began to form. They can't know, oh god, not yet.

"I'm terribly sorry, Yoongi. We are aware of your plans to remain a single monarch during the time of your succession." His father apologised.
Yoongi shook his head, before moving his hands from his face and slyly wiping the escaped tears.
"It's fine." His parents' expressions both fell at the sound of his usually strong voice cracking.
"At any rate, we're hosting a ball tonight. This is the perfect opportunity to meet and get to know the Princess. We expect to see you there, Yoongi."

The Prince just nodded and left the dining hall. As he walked past, his favourite servant, Jimin was quick to notice that something was wrong.

"Your Highness, are you okay? You don't look too great." The younger boy rested his hand on the prince's shoulder since he looked as if he was about to topple over at any given moment, there was a concerned look on his face that he didn't bother to mask.
The older boy turned his head to face Jimin, eyes landing on the hand that was comfortably placed on his shoulder.

Jimin followed his gaze and realised what he was doing, his eyes widened and he immediately removed his hand.
"Oh... my apologies, Your Highness." He kept his gaze on the floor as he bowed, Yoongi felt a faint pull on his lips and realised he was smiling.
"It's okay, Jimin, really." He chuckled, the servant looked up and visibly relaxed.

"I'm afraid I have to assist decorating the hall for the forthcoming ball."
"That's all right, you can go." The prince dismissed him and within seconds he was gone.

As soon as Jimin walked away, Yoongi rushed to his room. Upon opening the fancy, gold-plated door, he made his way over to the king sized bed and fell back onto it, his belly facing the ceiling. The prince let out a deep sigh at the thought that he'd have to marry.

Throughout the years, he had reminded his parents that he did not wish to wed, which they always questioned but accepted it, nonetheless. The King and Queen simply didn't understand why he'd choose to remain a bachelor for the rest of his life instead of marrying a beautiful lady, but they always agreed on that fact, much to Yoongi's gratitude.

His gaze remained on the ceiling as he heard a knock at his door.
"Who is it?" He rasped out, before coughing to clear his throat.
"It's Jimin, Your Highness." His voice rang out through the door, "The first few guests have arrived and you are to greet them. Also, the King wished to inform you to stay in the hall until the party is completely finished."
"Sure thing." He groaned, pulling himself off the bed with great difficulty. In fact, the last thing he expected was to feel the cold surface of the wooden floor against his cheek.

Jimin heard the loud crash and against his better judgement, rushed into the prince's room only to see him laying on the floor. His body partially covered by the white duvet which was hanging off the bed entangled with Yoongi's legs.

"Ow." He mumbled into the floor.
"Your Highness, are you all right?" Jimin didn't know whether to help the Prince or to let him get up himself.
"Shall I help?" He asked meekly, looking away from Yoongi.
"Yup." He groaned, holding his arm out for help, to which Jimin easily obliged.

Once Yoongi was up, the two boys shared a long moment of silence between themselves as they stared at each other.
"Um, you can let go now," Yoongi whispered, eyeing the lingering hand that was still tightly gripping onto his upper arm. The young servant's eyes widened as he immediately removed his hand.

"My apologies, Your Highness." he bowed respectfully once again, Yoongi rolled his eyes,
"You know, you say that way too often. You might as well be apologising for existing."
The younger looked down,
"Yeah, I get that a lot, so-" He was about to say it again before he stopped himself. Looking up at the prince, he saw a wide smile on his face.
"There that's better, now get used to not saying it." He chuckled as he ruffled Jimin's hair, causing the boy to tense up and hold his breath.

"You still have to go down for the ball, Your Highness,"
"Shit!" The realisation dawned on him and he frantically rushed to the room where the ball was taking place.
