There were multiple flashes hitting Yoongi right in the eyes from every angle. All while he was being bombarded with questions, the obstreperous crowd yelling for a chance to interview the Prince.

"If everyone can just calm down into an orderly fashion, we may commence the conference." One of Yoongi's bodyguards spoke, his demanding and assertive voice forced everyone to stop yelling.
"Thank you, we shall answer as many questions as we can." The prince spoke, his voice confident and poised; the way the future king should speak. As soon as those words were let out into the atmosphere, countless hands went up, waiting for permission to ask a question.

Yoongi pointed at one the men, allowing him to ask what he wanted. The man himself seemed very awkward; he was probably new to that job, seeing as he was dropping a load of papers and notes.
"Um, sorry. I- uh. Oh yeah- I'm Kim Jongin," He paused, looking down at his notes, his hands were shaking. Yup definitely new, Yoongi thought. All of the other reporters and journalists eyed him with distaste, their thoughts emanating from their expressions.
"What's your question, Kim Jongin?" One of the bodyguards spoke, trying to hurry up this whole ordeal.

"Right, sorry. Your Highness, can we get an explanation for the recently leaked photo that's been surfacing the news." He spoke, his voice shaky but as he was reading from his notes, there was less stuttering.
Yoongi thought for a second, how could possibly think of an explanation without any collateral damage?
He could feel all the eyes piercing him, like gunshots hitting him relentlessly. Yoongi took a deep breath before letting the lies slip out, he had to, for the sake of his kingdom.

"Actually, that photo was doctored to look the way it did, that never happened." His voice was smooth, resonant. It led everyone to believe him, everyone but one person in the crowd.

"Next question?" Once again, multiple hands shot up, all wanting to be picked.
Yoongi pointed at the next person, who had an unreadable expression on his face.
"I'll just jump right into it, Your Highness." The way he said those last words caused Yoongi to feel slightly distressed, without knowing why.

The unknown man walked closer to the stage, pushing past other journalists, who yelled in response to the man. Once he finally made it to the front of the crowd, Yoongi noticed how the bodyguards must've sensed something off as well, each of them wary, their hands placed on the guns in their inside pockets awaiting any signs of danger. Yoongi's heart began to race as he suddenly felt incredibly anxious, but he had to appear calm and collected.

It was then that Yoongi also noticed that the unknown man had a small pile of paper in his hands, he assumed it was just his notes as he couldn't quite make out what was on it. The man held them close to his chest so all one could see was the back of the pile with nothing on it.
"Care to explain this, Your Highness?" Yoongi's eyebrows furrowed as he awaited what was coming next.

The wrinkled man, with a sadistic smirk on his face, slowly turned over the pile in his hands. As he did so, Yoongi caught a glimpse of what he was holding.
He recalled the strange happening with Jimin from the previous day.

"What is it?" Yoongi spoke breathlessly, his voice raspy.
Jimin continued to cautiously stare at the doorway,
"I thought I saw a random flash of light. Didn't you see it?" He turned back towards Yoongi, who was eyeing him with confusion written on his face.
"No?" He paused to look around, feeling uneasy himself,
"Are you sure?"
"I'm certain."

Yoongi instantly realised that what Jimin had seen was a camera flash; someone had taken pictures of the two boys kissing in Yoongi's garden and now those exact pictures were about to revealed to the world.

The crowd gasped loudly as the man turned around to show everyone the pictures, the crowd stared back and forth from the photos to Yoongi, their eyes showed nothing but abhorrence and repugnance.
"This is who your soon-to-be King is, everybody! Your soon-to-be King is a faggot who spends his time doing god knows what with his servants instead of preparing for looking after this country!"

The man's harsh words sounded like venom, Yoongi could feel his eyes prick with tears as his heart felt heavy.
"I think it's time we finis-" Yoongi spoke in attempts to put an end to this press conference, only to be interrupted by the furious crowd. Not one person was intelligible due to vast amounts of screaming and shouting. As much as the bodyguards tried to calm everyone down, it wouldn't work, Yoongi was being besieged by the majority of people in there. All of them yelling about Yoongi's sexuality and how they refused to have their country ruled by someone who was "ill".

"Can everybody please cal-"

The old man from earlier had interrupted him this time,
"I think we should do something about this."
With that, the man pulled out a gun from his inner pocket and aimed it in Yoongi's direction, ignoring the screams of terror from the other reporters as they all fell to the ground as a way of protection.

Time seemed to slow down for Yoongi, he could feel his heart beating erratically in his ears with panic. He kneeled down instinctively, shut his eyes forcefully and covered his head as he heard a gunshot being fired. Screams could be heard from the crowd once again.

Yoongi looked up slowly, there was an obnoxious ringing in his ears from the gunshot, he felt dizzy and dazed.

His brown eyes landed on the motionless body on the floor, directly in front of the stage. There was a trail of crimson blood coming from the man's head and a single gunshot wound to his head.

Yoongi's eyes widened and his mouth flew open as he couldn't look away from the figure, his whole body was shaking as he felt muscular arms grab his body and escort him away from the pandemonium. He could finally bring himself to look away and towards the person who was taking him away and noticed that it was the very bodyguard who had shot the man to protect Yoongi.

"Wh-where are we going?"
"Back to the palace, for your protection, Your Highness." The bodyguard spoke, the man had an authoritative vibe about him and Yoongi had always trusted him. For good reason, as was proven today.

"But wha-what about the c-crowd?" he could hardly articulate words, his whole mind was still panicking,
"It's okay, I ordered the other men to calm them, help is coming for them." The bodyguard spoke informally, but that was the last thing Yoongi cared about.
"D-did anyone die?"
"Only the man who put everyone in danger, I got him before he could hurt anyone."

The bodyguard led Yoongi to the car, opening the back door for him and helping him in. Yoongi sat down and breathed heavily, trying to calm his body down.
"T-thank you so much, Junmyeon." Yoongi breathed out slowly, struggling to find his voice. The dark haired male nodded in return, a soft smile on his face.
"It's my job to keep you safe."
