Steven Universe: In Too Deep

It's Gonna Be Great

Garnet's voice echoes in Steven's head. "And Steven...we love you..." Steven opens his eyes. He hears something cracking. "Woah!"

He quickly gets up and stumbles backwards as the ground crumbles beneath him. The chalkboard collapses down on him. Steven catches it with a grunt.

He sees the picture of Earth being blown to pieces with the words "CLUSTER EMERGES" above it and "BYE BYE EARTH" below it as he tries to stand it back up.

"Ah!" The clackboard falls down on the other side still showing that side of the board. The ground continues to shake as Steven stares down at the chalkboard.

Peridot is shaking, standing on a ladder nearby next to the drill. "If you're done just lying there, maybe it's about time THAT WE STOP THE WORLD FROM ENDING!" Steven runs up to the ladder.

"Where are the others?" Steven starts to climb the ladder up to Peridot. "They're stuck on Mask Island. We have to drill without them!" Peridot groans in frustration.

"Ugh! Am I the only one who understands the meaning of teamwork?!" Steven gets to the top of the ladder and meets Peridot.

"Okay, Steven." Peridot puts her hands on his shoulders. "Are you ready to drill down into the planet to depths never before reached by your species to stop the Cluster before it forms AND SAVE YOUR WORLD?!"

Steven just stares at her in shock and fear. "I don't know!" Peridot takes her hands off of Steven's shoulders in worry. "Don't say that! Say we'll do it together and it's gonna be great!"

Steven stands determined with not as much fear as before. "We're gonna do it together and it's gonna be great!" Peridot points at Steven. "Liar!" Peridot gasps as the ladder shakes violently. "Woah!"

Steven almost falls off, but Peridot catches him. Once they regain their balance, they run into the drill's cockpit. They sit down, Peridot at the controls. "Ready or not, we have a mission."

A screen is sent down in front of them and Peridot starts up the drill. The drillhead quickly picks up speed. It is sent into ground and it starts drilling into it. Steven holds on tight while while Peridot thrusts the controls.

"Increasing speed!" The two are sent backward in their seats in surprise as the drill knocks back the ladder and lunges right down into the abyss below.
