Steven Universe: In Too Deep

Army draws a 1 on the chalkboard which is being used as a scorebaord. Rubies (Guest) on the left and Humans (Home) on the right. The game has a total 9 innings. This is the Gems final chance to win.

The score stands with this: First inning: Rubies (1), Humans (0). Second: Rubies (0), Humans (1). No one got anywhere on the third. Fourth: Rubies (2), Humans (1). Fifth: Rubies (1), Humans (0).

Sixth: Rubies (0), Humans (2). Seventh: Rubies (0), Humans (1). Eighth (2), Humans (1). And finally on ninth, Army just scored a point for the Rubies, breaking the tie. The score is now 7 to 6.

There are already two outs and Sapphire is the last one to bat. Steven stands with the Gems as he discusses the issue. "Alright, it's the bottom of the ninth." Lapis looks down at Navy who is waving to her on second base.

"We've got on Lapis on second, but one more out and the game's over for us. We need to hit a homerun!" Steven notices Ruby and Sapphire chuckling on home base. Steven realizes the severity of the situation.

"Wait!! I call a Timeout!" Pearl and Amethyst watch as Steven runs up to Ruby and Sapphire. He comes in between them and they stop chuckling. "Listen, you two. I know it's hard being separated."

Steven looks them both in the eye. "But we have to keep them out of the barn, or they're gonna find Peridot, remember?! Ruby, stop being cute. And Sapphire, keep your eye on the ball!" They look down and nod.

Ruby tries make a wise crack from Steven's last comment. "Pun intended?" Steven snaps his fingers at her. He points at Ruby as he backs away. "What did I just say?!" Steven sits on the bench with Pearl and Amethyst.

They watch as Sapphire readies her bat. Doc stands on the pod, ready to make the final throws. He grunts as he throws the ball. Sapphire swings and misses the ball. Army announces the first miss. "Strike one!"

Sapphire watches Ruby throw the ball back to Doc. Doc catches the ball in a conceited manner with a smug smile on her face. The Gems start to get really nervous along with Peridot back at the barn.

Ruby nervously encourages Sapphire. "Come on, I know you can do it." Sapphire tries again. Doc throws the ball again with a grunt and Sapphire swings too early, missing for the second time.

"Strike two!" Ruby looks back at Sapphire as she tries to help her focus. "Just look at the ball." Sapphire's expression strains as she readies her bat. "I'm trying, but all I wanna look at is you."

Ruby smiles. "Don't worry. You can look at me when you're running for home." Sapphire smiles back, finally willing to concentrate. Doc decides to go overboard with the final throw. She lights the ball on fire with her anger and determination.

She lets out a yell, ready to launch the ball. Sapphire gets ready. Doc launches the ball with a loud grunt as it's sent flying towards Sapphire. Sapphire screams and swings with just as much fury and determination.

She hits the ball right on target. Sapphire stands her ground as the ball skids against the bat. Everyone except Sapphire and Doc gasp as sparks fly from the hit. Sapphire growls as she freezes the bat.

It counters the fire of the ball's withstanding force, rebounding it. The ball smokes as it flies at an extreme speed through a cloud. Doc looks up at the sky in disbelief as the cloud poofs.

Ruby and Sapphire look in awe and then they celebrate. Ruby cheers as Sapphire tosses the bat away. She runs around the bases, laughing as Lapis walks to home base casually. Steven and the Gems cheer. "YEAH!"

Lapis home base and smiles as she and Ruby high five. Army throws her baseball mitt down in fury. Everyone else watches as Sapphire continues to run towards Ruby, panting. Ruby tears up joy and spreads her arms out.

"Come to me!" They laugh as Sapphire jumps towards Ruby. She lands on her, making Ruby's baseball cap fly off her head. They glow as they happily roll across the field.

The Gems' smiles dissapear realizing that Ruby and Sapphire are about to blow their cover. Their worst fears have been realized. Garnet appears holding herself, laughing. "Hahaha..
Ha..." She stops. "Ooops."
