You'll Be Fine

Steven and the Gems walk towards the ward pad near the barn. Steven talks to Lapis and Peridot for bit. "So, uh, I guess you're both okay now?" Lapis responds. "Yeah, we're okay. It's just...that."

Steven puts a hand on Lapis's shoulder. "Everything will okay, Lapis. Peridot won't do anything bad to you. I promise." Lapis smiles but then frowns. She looks up at the night sky. "I hope you're right, Steven."

Peridot comes in between Steven and Lapis. "Lazuli, I'm a Crystal Gem now. I've already done enough damage not to be bad again." Lapis looks at the other Gems walking in front of them.

"But, what about them?" Steven and Peridot look at the Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst with their eyebrows raised. "Don't you get it? One of them can turn on us at any given moment. Especially those...like me."

Steven flashbacks to the kindergarten. Amethyst was fighting Pearl. Amethyst sends violet beams of energy down her whips, which cause a huge explosion that slams Pearl against an injector.

"I'm not going to let you stand there and remind me of everything I hate about myself!" Lapis calls to Steven, who zoned out for a minute. "Steven?" Steven sees Peridot and Lapis staring at him.

"Huh? Oh right. Sorry. Zoned out for a minute." Peridot folds her arms. "We can see that." Steven looks at Amethyst and then at Pearl. Steven sees himself back at the temple with Pearl standing at the doorway.

She is holding his mother's sword contained in its scabbard. "What do you know? You've never even met her!" Pearl pounds her fist against the wall. Steven remembers that Pearl has a problem as well.

He also remembers what Greg said in the van one night. "Me and Pearl...well...we never got along that well since I started dating your mother." Steven then looks at Garnet...who has no problem.

Steven then contemplates Pearl and Amethyst. "Hmm..." Steven looks down at the ground as he walks up to the warp pad with the other Gems. Steven then stops and looks back at Peridot and Lapis.

"Wait." Peridot steps up to Steven. "What if those rubies come back? What they find out that Jasper isn't on Neptune? What if-" Steven puts a finger to his lips.

"Don't worry, Peridot. Neptune is the farthest planet in our solar system. It will take them probably forever." "I guess you're right." "And if they do come, you've got us. The Crystal Gems."

Steven backs up onto the ward pad. Steven smiles. "Just don't think about right now. When it happens, it happens. You'll be fine." The warp pad activates and Peridot and Lapis wave as the Gems take off.
