SEVENTEEN
I went to the bathroom and ran inside one of the stalls. I sat down on the floor and cried like a lost child. I messed my hair in frustration and cried louder since no one's in the bathroom.
Just why does it have to be this way?
For a few minutes out there, I heard footsteps of people entering the bathroom so I cleared my throat and wiped my tears but I'm too afraid to get out from the stall.
"Hey hey, did you hear the rumors of Jungkook dating a girl?" I heard a girl's voice echoing inside the bathroom. She sounded like a staff from a photoshoot company.
"Heol, jinjja? Lemme see lemme see." Another one replied and I dug my face to my palms, trying to control the tears.
"Heh, you must be joking. He's dating that pig?" She said and they both laughed.
Not again.
"I know right! But wait, does she look familiar somehow?" The first girl said in her annoying high-pitched voice. "She looks like Haena? Hanae? Jungkook's personal stylist."
"Oh yeah, she does!" She laughed. "She's fat and to be honest, her face bugs me a little. I mean, how could a stylist look like that? She should've decorated herself more."
Hah, alright. I've been insulted about my appearances again and again.
"Ya! Get your asses to work, kids! Everyone is searching for you like crazy!" I heard Insun unnie's voice yelling at them. "And be careful of what you say from now on, or else you'll never be able to speak again."
"Huh? What's wrong with her?" I heard the girls mumbling rude words as they left the bathroom.
I exhaled a deep breath, walking outside the stall to see Insun unnie walking to one of the stalls.
"Oh! Haena!" She got startled. "Oh my child, are you okay? You've been crying?" She observed my face slowly.
"Did you hear their ugly words? If you did, you'd better not believe such words from disgraceful people." She comforted me and I smiled.
"Unnie! I love you!" I sounded like a kid, hugging her tightly. She caressed my hair comfortingly.
"Aish, this kid. What troubled you huh?" She asked me, breaking our hugs.
"It's nothing, unnie," I lied.
"You're a bad liar," She pointed a finger at my chest. "And it's okay if this isn't the right time, you can tell me anytime alright?" She said and I nodded, smiling.
"Plus, can you take over my place today? I mean, can you do the makeup for Jungkook?" I asked her and she frowned.
"Mwoyah? Did you guys have a fight?"
"Ah— aniyo, I mean, I'm not in the mood so I won't be able to do his makeup properly. I want to rest." I lied again but this time, she believed me.
"Alright, have a good rest." She tapped my shoulder and went into one of the stalls.
With that, I walked out from the bathroom and strolled along the hallway full of people rushing forward while talking on the phone. Things have always been hectic.
As I continued walking, I saw Jungkook walking toward me. He muttered, "Haen—"
"Jungkook ah!" A staff called him and he turned around hesitantly. "Neh?" He ran toward him and I just walked the other way slowly.
