I questioned, walking to the board with Jungkook. "What's the fuss?" I continued walking to the board and started to read the information.

oh no. this can't be.

"Ahn Hongseok passed the evaluations and got confirmed to be debuting. As of now, he's going to be a mentor of Lee Hyemin and is of charge to help her pass the evaluations. It's going to be conducted for four times—The first one's going to be dance, the second one vocals, the third one rap and the final one showing the listed ones at the same time.

This time the evaluations aren't going to be simple. The trainees are going to compete against each other for their own surival. The first one's to go against each other are Lee Hyemin and Kim Haena. Jeon Jungkook's going to be a mentor of Kim Haena for the time being until his schedule comes into the game again. We are going to provide another mentor soon."

"What is this?" My mouth fell wide-opened, and I asked Jungkook with a messed up mind.

"Congrats, Haena! You have got a chance to debut," Before I could say anymore words, Insun unnie rushed to me, her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath.

"But Insun-" I couldn't even group my words together now and plus, someone called her at the same time. "Insun!"

"Going to be right back," She tapped my shoulder and winked at me before running quickly to another direction.

"Have you something to do with this?" I asked Jungkook, looking at him and he shook his head rapidly. "No, I did nothing," He answered, and I tried to observe his face to see if he was lying.

"I guess it's not that bad having you around," I gave up on observing him. "Well then, please take care of me," I bowed 90 degrees and he giggled.

"When should we start practicing? The evaluation's tomorrow," He asked and my jaw literally dropped. "Yeah, we have— What?" I tried to stop my eyes from becoming bigger from all these surprising news that gave me a mini heart attack. "Tomorrow?"

"It's the last sentence on the notice board," He stated as he pointed at the board, and I turned around to see that it's the truth. I'm dead.

"You have to help me do this," I, somehow, sounded extremely determined. Still, Jungkook nodded and gave me a serious look. "Let's win," He added, and I smiled.

"Sure,"

•••

I walked to the practice room alone, attempting to wait for Jungkook to come and teach me since my first evaluation will be tomorrow and I just know nothing.

I went inside to see Hyemin and Hongseok dancing to various English songs and I just stayed at the corner, watching them.

I've never seen them dance or sing before ㅡ I mean, it's so surprising that they can do that because they always play around a lot at school and I didn't think they would become trainees.

Hongseok is even confirmed to be debuting before any other trainees and he just got me speechless. He's now Hyemin's mentor too.

And I'm just here being a mashed potato.

It's great that they're practicing together and helping each other out because they know each other at school so there's no awkwardness and stuffs.

The song ended and they gave each other high-fives. Hyemin's eyes met mine and we both smiled.

"Haena!" She shouted out, running toward me. "Have you come to practice as well?" She questioned, and all I could do was a nod in response.

"We are going to compete against each other," I stated the truth as I looked down on the ground. "I did not want this," I looked at her and she heaved a long sigh.

"Same," Her voice quieted down and she averted her gaze from me.

"Whoever might win this," I tried to change the atmosphere by saying some weird stuffs that I've never thought I would say. "I hope we are going to remain as friends," However, this is what I want.

"Yeah," She smiled at me. "And uh, where is Jungkook?" She tried to look around, finding him.

"He's going to be here soon," I told her and she stopped looking around by saying a simple "Oh,"

"Hello," Jungkook popped up out of nowhere and I swear, I almost screamed. Anyway, there goes her prince charming.

"Jeon J-Jungk— Uhm, hello!" Hyemin stuttered, blushing like a raw tomato.

"No need to get so worked up, I am not the director," Jungkook rubbed the nape of his neck, showing us a nervous smile.

"Well then, we should go and let you practice now," Hongseok changed the subject and Hyemin's face couldn't get anymore mad.

"Bye-bye," Jungkook and I waved goodbyes to them but Hyemin stopped and turned around. "Could it be possible to watch your practice sometimes?" She asked, with puppy eyes.

"Yeah, that's no problem," I told her and her expression changed from a resting bitch face to a happy psycho instantly.

"Alright! I'm going to bring you some coffee t—" She tried to speak more but Hongseok kept pushing her forward and closed the door.

"Should we start?" Jungkook began and I nodded in agreement. "We should start with dance, the vocals are for another time," He stated as we both walked to the stereo system.

"Do you know the song Manolo from Trip Lee?" He asked, moving to stand beside me and stared at the screen.

"Yeah, I do," I tried to answer politely.

"Good," He nodded, turning the music on and we just stood at the same place, listening to the song.

"The song is great," We both spoke at the same time, and we smiled.

So, Jungkook started to dance along the song just like the way he danced it during the broadcast with J-hope.

I knew it a little, so it wasn't difficult for me to catch up but still, he kept complaining about my movements and facial expressions, "Please understand the way I move."

He scoffed and I just kept dancing. After a while, he suddenly sat down on the ground and leaned against the mirror, looking at me.

"Just continue with the routine, I'm going to rest for a while," He looked extremely tired and pale. I ran quickly in order to take a bottle of water and gave it to him. I used a towel to wipe his sweat from his face.

He stiffened, holding the bottle of water still. "No need to worry, I am doing this as your stylist, not your student," I reassured him and he smiled, drinking the water.

For a few moments, I realized he kept panting and panting which got me worried, "Hey Jungkook... Go and rest. It's past midnight," I told him and his eyes widened.

"Midnight?" He almost shouted and I nodded tremblingly. "Oh god no, I have to study Japanese again," He sighed and I furrowed my eyebrows together.

"Japanese? Didn't I help you once?" I asked him and he smiled nervously. "I already forgot some words,"

"This child," I mumbled, looking at the watch again. "Let's stop for now, I'm going to help you,"

"Alright," He stood up from the ground slowly while looking at me. All of a sudden, his face became paler and he almost fell on the ground but I held him tight.

He snuggled his face between my neck and shoulder, putting his right arm on my other shoulder. I noticed that he's too weak to even stand. "J-Jungkook? Hey, what's wrong?" I questioned and there was no response.

I held him tighter, "Jungkook? Are you okay?" I asked him again and I felt him exhaling a long breath.

"Just a bit tired," He spoke as soft as whispers.

"This isn't a bit. Come on, let me take you t—" I tried to release his body from mine but he tightened his grasp. "Hey," I felt like he could mutter only some words because of exhaustion. "I could fall, you know? Be more careful," Now all I could feel was his hot breath on my skin as he spoke.

His voice is barely heard and I knew that he's going to collapse soon. Just as I was about to take him to his room, the door bursted open loudly.

What the heck? Worst timing.
