The forest was a lot denser than those around the village. It had a dark aura surounding it. Trees looked a lot taller and bigger, not letting the sun to shine through thick branches. Because of that the temperature was a lot colder. The coldness of three men, walking in front of me, didn't help either.
Why were angry in the first place? Was it because she helped her friend or because she talked crap about werewolf and their weakness?
One thing was clear: her actions weren't looked nicely.
Suddenly, the air shifted and I was welcomed by a dark cave. The entrance was in a small hill and I was sure that it went deeper to the ground.
All of us stopped and Zared glanced at me, but I shifted my gaze towards the cave. I was scared and I knew that they could smell it, but I didn't try to hide it. What was the point anyway? I was probably going to die in there.
But if I do survive, I'm not staying with them for sure...
This whole situation just made my decition sunk in my head. I was 100% determined to leave this place.
Ross walked into the cave while Deon and Zared turned to me. They motioned for me to go in and I stepped towards the cave without looking at them.
I was surprised to see stone steps go down with torches on the walls barely illuminating the path. I took a careful step and climbed down. The steps didn't go very deep, but it was deep enough to make me breaths a bit heavier.
When I walked into a room I was petrified. Chains were hanging from walls, two tables carved from wood were standing to my far left with what looked like tools, their tips covered in fresh blood. In the middle of the room were a handful of chairs lined in a row with fireplace burning in front of them and to my far left were cages full with people.
Dead people
My stomach rolled over and I looked away. I knew exactly where we were.
It was a torture room.
I looked at Ross who wore neutral expresion. He motioned to one of the chairs and I slowly sat. Just as I did that, Deon with Zared came in. They all looked to each other and stood before me, making me shrink in my seat.
'Speak' Deon said, his voice coated with bitterness, but I simply looked at him confused. Speak of what, my mother? Family?
As if taking my silence as a "no" Deon motioned for Ross towards the table. My eyes followed him as he walked to the table and took a tool that looked like a knife. A bucher knife.
Sadness over came me.
'You will fall so low to torture a woman whitout asking a proper question? That's sad' I said, understanding only after the words left my lips that I said them out loud.
Ross came back and Deon growled.
'Don't play dumb, Ary' he said making me dig my nails into my palms to contain a shuder.
'Don't play dumb? I don't know why I'm even here and you want me to speak. About what? My family? My feelings? My sex life?' I asked my voice dipped in anger. I didn't even know where this courage was coming from.
Change of plans. I'm not letting them see and raise my fear for them to enjoy...
'We want to know about the thing you threw to Mark' Ross said and I shifted my eyes to him.
'That was my hair pin' I said with the matter of fact voice.
'We want to know what was it made of!' Deon shouted making me close my eyes for a second.
'Please don't act dumb. You people make those things and you don't know what they are made of? It's silver' I said the last words with my body leaned towards him. He stared at me with his eyes glinting with malice.
'How did you know it was so harmful to us?' Ross asked looking at me and playing with the knife at the same time. I knew he was trying to scare me and it worked quite good. But despite that, I swallowed my fears and glued a smirk on my face.
If I'm going to die here than I'll do it with brave face....
'Why everyone knows that, sir' I said and he frowned.
'Who are those everyone?' He questioned me further.
'All people who likes to read and write stories about supernatural creatures. I hope I don't need to explain what a book is?' I asked with sarcasm in my voice.
'You bitch..' Deon started, but I interupted.
'Bitch what? Sorry, but the last time I checked, my ex list was blank' I said. I knew my attidute was acting up, but I let it go on. I also knew that I was making this whole situation worse, but what was the point if I was going to close my eyes here anyway?
I really loose my shyness near the people I know and start to look at things from the worst angles huh?
Deon looked startled a bit and then looked at Zared. Ross did the same.
'You haven't slept with her?' Deon asked with his eyebrows furrowed.
Atleast I know that he has a bad temper....
'So?' Zared simply rose one of his eyebrows up.
'Deon, that is not the point here' Ross said calmly and they all got their attention to me again.
'Who created that it would be so harmful to us?' Ross asked and stared at him shocked. Then I let my laughter fill the room.
'Who created it? Sir Beta, I have never held you as such a stupid person. Do I look like I lived millions of years? Or that I know all secrets about your kind? Sorry, but I only lived 24 years and in a normal enviroment' I said and before I know it, Deon grabbed my chin and pulled it closer to his face.
'Have some respect or else' he lowly growled and I had to give my best to look calm.
'And what? You will kill me like all innocent people you have killed? Please do! Don't worry, I'll make sure that my spirit breaks the pathetic barrier that makes you all so cozy here and return to the place where I should be. I hope you all just choke on the silver and your furs skined for us to walk on' I spat the venomous words to his face and he let me go.
He gave me a cold look from above and then turned to his subordinates. I noticed that his hands were in fists and were shaking. I made him furious.
'I think we should leave her here whitout food and water for a few days to teach her some respect and make her talk' he said and to my surprise they both nod, agreeing to his idea.
Ross, being the puppy of the group, went to take a rope and after a few minutes, I was tied up to the chair by my wrists and ankles. They all gave their last looks and left the room. Zared was the last one.
'I'm disappointed in you, mate' I said almost in a whisper and he clenched his palms into fists before leaving me alone.
A smirk appeared on my face.
He heard me...
