I Find Out That Having Powers Give A Person An Unfair Advantage

"Nancy Bobofit? NANCY BOBOFIT?" I said, shock painted across my face.

"Yep, the one and only. I had heard about a Percy Jackson at Camp, but I never saw you. I wondered if it really was you." She smiled, "apparently it was."

Now that I thought about it, it made sense. She was always stealing things. Like when I battled Mrs. Dodds, she had been pickpocketing that day.

"Huh. I wonder why I never saw you." I knew about every camper, yet I don't remember seeing her.

"I went out of my way to avoid you. That would've been weird." I agreed.

"You must've been a good warrior if Chaos chose you. How did you die?" No offense to Nancy, but I found it hard to believe she was good enough to be recruited by Chaos.

"Dracaenae. And he didn't recruit me. I died about the same time as Luke, so I snuck along when they left. After that, he had no choice but to let me join."

I nodded and Nancy held out her hand. "We good?"

"The past is the past." I grabbed her hand and we shook.

"I would never have said this before, but who cares now? I think you are a great warrior. Whoever hurt you at Camp, I will personally beat up if we ever go back."

I smiled. "Thanks."

After that, Luke showed me the ropes. He gave me a tour, and we trained. We trained without powers first, and I was still the best fighter. Then Luke showed me how to use the small amount of powers I had. I hadn't been tested yet, so I didn't have as much as the rest of them.

Once I understood how to use the power I had, we trained with abilities. That also meant I could use my water manipulation. It was them vs. me. I failed miserably.

"All right Percy, practice fighting with those. I know you're great with your sword, but you may lose it at some point. There are ways to keep it from coming back to you. What happens then? Practice." Luke dismissed us, as he and I had agreed he would be commander for now until I was ready.

I trained for months until I could use my powers without thinking. By then, I could beat every single one of them, even though they had more powers. Chaos saw, and decided it was time. I was now the official commander, and I could lead the missions. I still hadn't proven myself worthy of more powers yet though.

Time passed differently in Chaos' realm. One year on Earth was six years here. After having been with Chaos for half an Earth year, three Chaos years, he gave me my first mission. Some planet was being overrun by monsters. We saved that planet in less than a day. With every mission, I gained more powers.

Every once in a while I would feel Grover trying to communicate with me, or locate me using his empathy link. Chaos had showed me how to push him away, which I did each time.

That's all we did. Trained, saved planets, got powers, etc. It seemed like a planet needed saving everyday. Finally, we got a break.

"Warriors," Chaos called us from our training. "You may have a free week. I'm sending you to my planet, Chaos. It has real monsters for you to train with. When you come back, I want you to be the best you can be. The planet will test you. I will determine if you will be able to bathe in the River Styx. Even you, Percy. If you are worthy, you will bathe again. Choose a different mortal spot this time."

We cheered as Chaos flashed us away. When we were on solid ground, we looked around. Everywhere you looked, there was training equipment. It was like an extreme version of Camp Half-Blood. There was the lava climbing wall, but it was faster. The sword arena, but bigger. The archery range, but wider. Anything we would need. I trained and trained as much as I could in that week, and polished up my skills. My one weakness, archery, became my second greatest strength. I kept it a secret, just in case I was challenged to a duel with a bow an arrow in the future. It would be helpful if no one knew.

By the end of the week, we were all stronger, faster, and smarter. We could anticipate our enemy's move before they made it. Chaos said we all passed and took us to the River Styx. He stayed there while we bathed to keep Hades from finding us, especially me.

As each one of us bathed, we held our breath. If you didn't focus when going in there, you'd die. We all let out a huge breath when each one of us came out alive and invincible.

When it was finally my turn, I thought of what to think about. Definitely not Camp or Annabeth, those memories are long gone. Instead, as I walked in, I thought of Blackjack, Chaos, and my new family. My old one was dead to me. My parents didn't remember me. They loved the "new" me.

Anyway, I thought about the new happy memories I had. Everything that had happened since joining Chaos. My mortal spot became the spot Luke had before, but on the other arm.

When I came out, I felt even better than the first time I came from the River Styx. I felt two times invincible. Chaos said it was normal, since I had bathed in it before.

We told each other our mortal spots, just incase so that we wouldn't accidently hit one of theirs and kill them.

We left as soon as we heard Hades coming. Once we were back at Chaos' palace, we had another mission. Life continued on like that.

Train, save planet, train, etc.

Until, something Chaos said to me changed it all.

"Percy, I have decided that you may hunt down Pontus. He has been causing trouble in many places. I would like you to eliminate him. But, for the good of the world only. Not for revenge."

I almost jumped for joy. "Yes, sir!"

"You may have some revenge, but your main focus is to get rid of him so he can do no more harm."

"Thank you Chaos. Will you please tell me where he is?" I was ready to go right then and there. All I needed was his location.

"Do you remember the first mission you had?" I nodded. "He is at that planet." I raced off to tell the rest of the team.

"Hey Percy, what's up?" Luke looked up when he saw me come bursting in.

"Chaos gave me permission to kill Pontus." Luke opened his mouth, but I answered his unasked question. "I'll tell you when I get back. Tell the rest of the team to expect me in a week or less. You're in charge for now."

Luke nodded his head and whistled for Blackjack.

You called, boss?

"Come on Blackjack, time to find the god who ruined my life."
