The Gods Play Santa
She pulled me into her arms and hugged me. "Where have you been?" She laughed and wiped away her tears.
"For the past eighteen Chaos years, three Earth years, I have been traveling all over the universe. I know you have your memory back. I left three years ago when everyone lost their memory of me and joined Chaos's team. Chaos, as in, the first immortal being." Paul got over his shock his shock and hugged me as well. It wasn't awkward either.
"Tell me all about it." And so I did.
I explained how I met Chaos, how I found my friends who had died, and how Blackjack died. Mom almost cried at that part, but I assured her he had come back. She did cry when Nancy, Chaos, and Blackjack died. After recounting the whole story, she only had one question.
"I know my mythology, so I know that a being as powerful as Chaos couldn't die without a successor. And that that person takes over as Chaos, they can't stay on Earth. Who is it?"
I looked down. "It's me."
Sally gasped. "No. No! That means--that means . . ." She burst into fresh tears and Paul rubbed her back.
"I'm sorry. I didn't choose to take over as him, he chose me. I'm so sorry. I love you, Mom." I kissed her forehead. I turned to Paul. "Don't let her do anything bad."
He nodded and opened his mouth. I didn't stay to hear what he said. I teleported back to Camp and gathered my team. "Time to go to Olympus." They nodded and I created a portal for us.
Time to see my dad.
When we emerged from the portal into the throne room, the gods were bickering, as usual. "Hey!" I yelled, and they quieted. Once again, I was Sotirios.
"Hello Sotirios, your team. Thank you for coming without us summoning you. As you know, you have done Olympus a great deal. You shall be rewarded." Zeus obviously didn't like saying that they had needed our help.
Dionysus came over first. He murmured an incantation in Greek. "You are now blessed. You will never go mad, and you can drink as much wine as you would like without becoming drunk. All of you." He grumbled, annoyed at having to give us something.
Next came Hera. She blessed us with the good fortune of having a tight family. Hermes blessed us, allowing us to be able to stay in any hotel, house, you name it.
Apollo and Artemis blessed us with archery, Apollo also giving us small future seeing abilities. Thankfully, no poem skills. Artemis gave us the ability to manipulate moon beams.
Hephaestus gave us knowledge of machinery. All of us could now fix anything easily, and we were fire users.
Aphrodite didn't feel the need to give us true love, so she gave us a free favor. "For whenever you need to plan a date, or ask someone out." She said.
Demeter gave us the ability to use the plants as a GPS. We'd never be lost, as long as there were plants somewhere.
Zeus gave us the ability to fly, Poseidon gave us the ability to manipulate water and breath underwater. I didn't need them, but I didn't say anything.
Ares blessed us with strength, our weapons would never fail us in battle. Athena blessed us with eternal wisdom, so we would always make the right decision in battle.
Last but not least, Hades. He gave my team the ability to heal someone even if there were an inch from death. It was only a one time thing though, so they would have to use it wisely.
Finally, he came to me. "I have something special for you." He snapped his fingers, and something trampled me from from behind.
Hey, boss, I'm getting close to cheating death as many times as Daedalus now. Sweet!
I whirled around and threw my arms around the familiar Black Pegasus. "Blackjack! You're back!" I turned to Hades. "Thank you."
He waved it off. "Don't mention it. He will never be harmed or killed. You will have him forever now. Just to let you know."
I nodded. "Thank you." I looked at all of the gods. Especially Poseidon. "I know you would like to know more about Percy Jackson. I know where he is."
Poseidon whipped his head to look at me. "Where is he? Where is my son?"
"Right here." I threw back my hood.
Poseidon jumped off of his throne, shrunk to human size, and embraced me. "You're alive. I thought you were gone. No one knew where you were. To think, you were here this whole time!"
"Yep. Nice to see you to. You do know I can't stay though, right? I'm the new Chaos. I can't stay on Earth."
He sighed. "I know. I'm just glad I know you're okay now."
"Are you kidding me? I blessed my least favorite demigod with something I can't take back. I hate surprises." I laughed at Ares's outburst.
"Hate you too, Ares. See ya."
My team and I left to go back to Camp Half-Blood. We had one day left with the campers and there was something I needed to do.
We stood at Camp Half-Blood. "Okay guys. We have one day left with them. But I have something to ask you. Would any of you like to stay here, on Earth? I can immobilize the Primordials, you can be regular demigods. As soon as we need to save the world again, they'll come back. But you can stay here. Forever. You would be immortal, but you wouldn't have responsibility."
"Do you really mean that Percy? We can stay here?" Silena grasped Beckendorf's hand.
"Yeah, you can."
Beckendorf and Silena looked at each other. "We want to stay." They said.
I nodded and immobilized Ophion and Anake. "You're free to stay. Anyone else?" I looked at them and almost thought no one would say yes until Daedalus raised his hand.
"I want to help Annabeth with Olympus. Earlier, she asked me if I would help her. I want to stay." I immobilized Pontus and he was okay to stay.
"Is that all of you?" No one else wanted to stay. "Alright. Let's go enjoy ourselves before we leave. Go have fun."
