"I swear," Taehyung pleads, "I wasn't laughing because she dumped you; I was laughing at the reason she dumped you."
"That doesn't make me feel any better," Jungkook mutters, swatting his friend's hand off his arm.
"I've said sorry about a bajillion times," argues Taehyung, leaning into the younger's side. "How many more times do I have to say it for you to forgive me?"
Jungkook presses his lips together, refusing to answer.
"Jungkook—"
"Fine," Jungkook relents, "but," he adds at Taehyung's happy grin, "if you say anything like that ever again, I'm never gonna talk to you."
Taehyung snorts. "If you say anything like that ever again," he begins to mock, but immediately stops at Jungkook's stern expression. "Sorry."
"We're here," the teenager notes, blatantly ignoring Taehyung's apology.
Entering the apartment building, they head up a flight of stairs and ring the doorbell of Seokjin's apartment. Jungkook pretends to gag when Jimin opens the door and greets Taehyung with a kiss.
"You're just jealous," Taehyung mocks in a sing-song tone, making the teenager narrow his eyes.
"I'm not talking to you ever again."
"I didn't mean it like that," says Taehyung, clinging onto his friend's arm as he steps into the apartment. "It was just a joke!"
"What's just a joke?" Seokjin asks, glancing over his shoulder at them, seeming preoccupied with something at the stove.
Jungkook finds his mood being significantly lightened, although he's still irritated at Taehyung. "Tae thinks it's funny that Seojun noona dumped me."
"Taehyung," Seokjin begins sternly, glancing at said boy, who blanches.
"It was just a joke!" Taehyung's hands are up, as if someone is pointing a gun at him. "A joke!"
Before either Seokjin, Jungkook, Jimin, or Namjoon (who Jungkook has just noticed is lounging on the couch with his phone in his hands) can respond, a gleeful shout of "Hey, we're here!" interrupts, from none other than Hoseok, arm in arm with Yoongi.
"Hi," Seokjin says cheerfully.
Jungkook's anger on Taehyung is quickly forgotten as Yoongi makes some snarky quips about Seokjin's cooking, earning him a smack on the back of his head. Laughter rings around the apartment and coats are shed as Hoseok skips into the kitchen to help the eldest with cooking. Yoongi joins Namjoon on the couch, only to whip out his phone as well. Taehyung and Jimin are disgustingly affectionate with each other, curled up in a single seat together. Eventually, Hoseok joins his boyfriend and their friend on the couch, nuzzling his nose into Yoongi's neck to distract him from the device in his hand.
Jungkook saunters into the kitchen and hops onto the counter. "You almost done?"
"Get off the counter."
Embarrassed, the teenager quickly slides off. "Sorry."
Seokjin waves his apology off, stirring the vegetables around the pan. "It's fine, just don't do it again." After covering the pan with its lid, he turns to Jungkook again. "And yeah, it'll be done soon. Then we can eat, and watch a movie if everyone's interested."
