The next week passed by in a blur. Jungkook wasn't able to go on Skype at all, for he had to temporarily switch to a night shift at the shop he worked at and was absolutely exhausted by the time he came home.

After Yerin came back, however, Jungkook was more than happy to go back to his regular afternoon shifts. He finally logged into Skype and joined the call at around 9:00, right after he'd finished watching a few episodes of a drama.

Jungkook and Seokjin had sustained just one brief conversation over text over the week. Seokjin had merely asked if Jungkook was okay, noticing that he'd been absent for a while, and Jungkook had replied back affirmatively, explaining the situation at his job.

It was very brief, but Jungkook appreciated the thought.

Yoongi and Hoseok are back, as the younger has recovered from his illness. Namjoon is trying his best to piss Yoongi off by asking him questions about him and Hoseok, and Seokjin is half-heartedly attempting to stop Namjoon from irritating his hyungs.

"Namjoon, seriously—"

"Okay, but Yoongi hyung," Namjoon questions, "does Hoseok hyung do your makeup? Because we all know how much you suck at that—"

Yoongi grits his teeth. "You're so fucking obnox—"

"Yoongi!"

The blonde boy groans and presses his lips together. "Sorry, Seokjin hyung." When the eldest merely states at him pointedly, not saying anything, Yoongi exhales quietly. "Sorry for cursing, Seokjin hyung."

Seokjin still looks mostly dissatisfied as he nods his head. "You really need to control your language around the kids, Yoongi."

"But Taehyung swears all the time!" Hoseok protests. "Why are you getting mad at Yoongi and not Tae?"

"Because Taehyung doesn't curse in every other sentence," is Seokjin's simple reply as Taehyung hides a giggle beneath his hand. "At least when Taehyungie curses, it's in moderation. Or at appropriate times."

Hoseok frowns. "Yoongi really doesn't swear that much, Seokjin hyung."

"Yeah," Yoongi chimes in, "I don't curse as much anymore. I really cut down on the cursing after I started dating Hoseok."

"That's true, actually," adds Namjoon.

Seokjin crosses his arms. "I suppose that's true. But I still think you should control your choice of words more around the kids. You know," he says, "like Jungkookie. He's still a teenager."

Jungkook pouts. "I'm a legal adult."

"Barely," Namjoon guffaws.

"Look at our Jungkookie!" Taehyung coos, making Jimin laugh. "Pouting like a little baby." He starts giggling, increasing Jimin's laughter as well. The others join in, and Jungkook's anger increases tenfold.

"Fuck you, Tae," he growls, and all the other boys— with the exception of Seokjin— let out yelps of laughter, surprised.

"Jungkook, stop cursing," the eldest reprimands. "Using crude language like that will affect your behavior."

Jungkook swallows, shame running through him when Seokjin scolds him. "Sorry," he mumbles, subconsciously lowering his head.

When Jungkook dares to glance back up at Seokjin, the boy is smiling fondly at him. "You're honestly not a bad kid, Jungkook. You're so cute."

There's a loud ooooh from Hoseok and Namjoon. "Seokjin and Jungkook, sitting in a tree," they sing as Jungkook's face goes bright red, "K- I- S- S—"

"That's enough," Seokjin says sternly, and the two boys stop immediately, cackling as they exchange mischievous glances. "I only said that he wasn't a bad kid, how is that—"

"You also said that he was cute," interjects Jimin, giggling nervously when Seokjin fixes him with an irritated gaze.

"Look, now you've made him embarrassed," Seokjin says exasperatedly, staring at Jungkook. A chuckle suddenly escapes his lips. "Jungkookie, your face might actually be able to rival a tomato."

"Tomato-kook!" Taehyung screeches, and not even Seokjin can hide his grin this time.

"Stop being so mean to me!" Jungkook wails, tugging his red beanie over his eyes.

"His face is the same color as his hat," Hoseok chokes out between laughs. "I can't even tell where his face stops and his hat begins."

Seokjin does his best to quell his laughter. "Stop picking on him."

"You could probably cook a whole meal on Kookie's face," giggles Taehyung.

"I hate you," Jungkook cries, and disconnects from the call, leaning back in his chair and fanning his face to cool it down.

His cell phone rings less than a minute later.

Seokjin hyung ❤️

ACCEPT   [DECLINE]

They're just calling to make fun of me, is Jungkook's initial thought. He declines the next two calls, one from Taehyung, and a third from Jimin. His screen then lights up with a message.

Seokjin hyung ❤️: I've left the Skype chat
Seokjin hyung ❤️: Will you answer my calls now?

Jungkookie: No.

Seokjin hyung ❤️: Why not???

Jungkookie: I don't want to talk to you.

Seokjin hyung ❤️: Jungkookieeee

Seokjin hyung ❤️

ACCEPT   [DECLINE]

Once more.

Seokjin hyung ❤️

[ACCEPT]   DECLINE

"Hello."

"Yah, Jungkookie—"

"I'm fine, hyung."

There's a soft exhalation from Seokjin and a momentary pause before he speaks. "You don't sound fine."

"I'm fine, okay?" Jungkook snaps. "I'm just annoyed at Tae."

"Jungkookie—"

"And will you stop calling me that? It's really annoying."

There's another pause that makes Jungkook even angrier. Why did Seokjin even call? Just to laugh at him? At how immature and easily annoyed Jungkook is? Is Seokjin going to laugh about him to Namjoon?

"Okay, Jungkook," Seokjin begins hesitantly, "sorry about making fun of you—"

"I don't believe your stupid 'apologies,' okay? I'm done talking to you. Bye."

Jungkook ends the call and tosses his phone onto his desk, uncaring if it's going to break.

No one calls him or messages him for the rest of the night.
