((November 2021))
Screams and shouts were faintly heard in the background of her mind, but rung in her ears. Her eyes were closed and all she saw was just darkness.
What's happening? She asked in her thoughts. Am I dreaming?
Then she felt the winds around her, whipping all around and sending shivers down her spine and goosebumps down her arms and legs. Her heart was racing faster and faster with every second passing.
Finally she couldn't take it anymore. She slowly opened up her eye just a sliver and was welcomed by a bright light piercing her vision. She then opened both of them, getting welcomed to the tsunami of colors; they washed her vision with firey reds, electric blues, neon greens, and yellow-oranges. Her heart skipped a few beats before her vision cleared and she saw where she was.
The first thing she noticed was the sun kissing the horizon, shading the sky with dark red, orange, and pink, then finally to a baby blue way over her head.
A dark figure flying over head caught her attention, bringing her eyes to the landscape. Thousands of people were scattered over the hilly land that seemed to stretch on for miles, and not one tree did she see.
She turned her head around to her left to examine the rest of her surroundings. Mountains were faintly seen behind a large curtain of rolling grey fog. Turning to her right she saw glinting stars off tall glassy buildings.
A flash of fire out of the corner of her vision caused her head to whip sideways. Her eyes landed on a girl with firey hair dancing in the winds as she slashed at black creatures, clenching a sword with a blade of pure flames. Her body was wrapped tightly in a black suit with glowing designs of orange-red.
I have to be dreaming. She tried to convince herself. I have to be.
Her eyes scanned around like quick darts. She noticed she was surrounded by six people, including the girl with fire hair. Three girls and three guys stood around her in a protective circle, keeping the dark creatures away from her. She noticed that two girls were wearing the black suits, and the other girl had hipster clothes on as blue sparks and smoke came jolting out of her hands. One boy wore street clothes-that are now blood stained and shredded-and was slashing his enemies with his hands, his hair faintly glowed red. Another boy shifted from wolf to boy in the matter of seconds; when he was in human form ice shards flew out his hands and aimed for hearts or heads. The last one fought with a crossbow aiming them perfectly in their desired spots at each creature.
As she looked around more she saw more people and those black creatures. Some people were fighting other people, people with skins of different shades and eyes that projected evil and anger. She looked at the other side of the battle: at the enemies. Her body shivered with tingles that made her heart race.
Her eyes caught back on her protective circle. Her shield was close but far out enough as they fought with their lives, anger and concentration was like a scream in their eyes.
But as much as she could tried to concentrate she couldn't put her mind to work. She looked at each face and a wave of recognition came across her but they seemed to blur out just as her mind was trying to figure out who they were. She couldn't figure who.
The winds brushed her as she kept trying to comprehend if this was really happening.
Wake up. She tried to tell herself.
