Zander and Adaline have been secretly seeing each other for 4 months. After the night of Adaline's prom, they couldn't stop themselve from kissing and professing their love. It was as if all those years of bottle up feelings made impossible to stay away from each other.
It wasn't easy though. They had to meet in secret, mostly on Zander's small house, and make sure no one knew about them, specially Robbie. Zander hated himself for doing the one thing a friend shouldn't do, falling for his best friend's sister. However, he couldn't help it and he loved Adaline so much that he was ready to fight Robbie if it was necessary.
Adaline wanted to tell everyone about her feelings for Zander but she knew she couldn't. The only person who knew about them was Adaline's best friend Caroline who often helped them and also covered for Ada.
The end of the summer was coming closer and with that also the moment of separation was approaching. Adaline had been accepted into University of Pensylvania while Zander had to stay in New York for his work. The drive from her college to the city was over 3 hours by car making it nearly impossible to see each other.
Both knew that the time to leave was getting closer but they refused to live in sadness over it. They wanted to make sure that every moment they spend together was the happiest so when they were away from each other, they could cherish those memories.
"I have been thinking about having sex with Zander." Adaline whispered to her friend Caroline as they were alone in her room.

"What?!?" Caroline shouted.
"Shh!" Adaline tried to shut her up. "I want my first to be him. I am sure and prepared."
"Are you really sure? Is he pressuring you? I mean he is nice but he is older that you." Caroline told her.
"I am sure. My parents always told us to wait for the person we are in love with and I have been in love with him since I have memory. I wouldn't want to be with anyone else but him." Adaline said.
"You two are just so cute! Ada you are so lucky." Caroline told her before they hugged each other.
"Do you mind if I tell my parents I am staying at yours tomorrow for our last sleepover before going to college?" Adaline asked her.
"You know I always cover up for you." Caroline said with a smile.
"Thank you so much." Adaline said and they hugged again.

When Caroline left, Adaline found herself making dinner with her mother and her little sisters and brother. She was growing nervous about asking her if she could stay at Caroline's because she knew it was a lie. Adaline couldn't bring herself to ask during the dinner and waited until the twins and Nate had left the kitchen to ask her mother.
