Gemma stepped into her office with a coffee on one hand and today's newspaper on her other. She arrived to her table and laid all her stuff on top of it, only being careful not to spill her warm drink.

She sat down and opened the New York Times checking all the news were perfectly arranged as always. A few minutes after she was done reading the paper, she was called into the editor's office.

She knocked and after being granted entry by her boss, she stepped into the neatly arranged office. The editor was seated on his usual seat but in front of his table there was a young man. Gemma was suddenly interested on the new face and it was a very handsome one.

"Good morning, Mr Hudson." She said then turning to the unknown man. "Good morning sir."

"Miss Styles, this is Evan Green. He is the new photographer." Mr Hudson introduced them.

"Oh, right. Hi, I am Gemma Styles. Nice to meet you." She said offering him her hand.

"Hi, I am Evan Green as Mr Hudson said. It's nice meeting you too." He said shocking her hand.

"Good. Styles, could I assign him to you? I know you are working on a new article about the 9/11 Memorial so I thought Green could follow you around and take some pictures." Mr Hudson proposed.

"Yes, of course. In fact I was going there in a few minutes. I am interviewing some victims." She informed them.

"That's good. I think you should go then." The editor said.

The two of them stepped out of the office and Gemma told Evan to follow her. She introduced him to everyone on their office area and told him he could take one of the empty tables and make it his own. She also told him some secrets about the place and showed him around, making sure not to forget the very important coffee machine and the toilets.

Evan was in awe at how nice everyone was in the office. However, he was even more in awe about Gemma. She was nice, funny and so beautiful. He felt the crush developing already. He had been away from romantic relationships for a long-time due to his time in the army but now he was free to do what he wanted. Right now, doing a good job was important but he also found a new-found interest in Gemma Styles.

It was probably not good to get involved into a relationship with someone from your work but he couldn't help it but fantasize about asking her on a date. Although it will be awkward if she happened to refuse to accept it and then they had to work together. No, asking a date to your workmate is not a good idea.

With this realization in mind, the two made their way to the centre of New York City were Gemma had an appointment with several victims of the 9/11 attacks. Gemma confidently interviewed all of them while Evan took photos being careful to not make them uncomfortable. Every now and then, he photographed Gemma, not because it was his job but because he couldn't help himself every time he noticed how beautiful she looked.

Once the interview was done, Gemma asked him how he was doing on his first day. He shyly answered that it was fine before the two left the building where the interview had taken place. Gemma expected more of him, she wanted him to talk to her and tell her about himself. For what she could get from him, he seemed closed off and that was something that worried her. Gemma hated when people do not share much because it reminded her of her brother Harry and how unhappy he is.

"I am craving some food, in fact it's lunch time. Do you want to get something?" She asked.

"Sure, I am hungry too." He answered.

"Good. Anything you fancy?" She asked.

"You." He blushed as soon as the words left his lips. Gemma saw his reaction and raised an eyebrow at him. "No! Oh god! I mean, what do you fancy?"

"Are you sure?" She teased. "I am craving some Greek food, you okay with that?"

"Yeah, sure." He agreed.

Truth was that he had never ever eaten Greek food but he wanted to make her happy. If she wanted it, he was going to try it too.

In just a few minutes, they made it to a white painted corner restaurant with the name in Greek. All the decorations were very Greek-like with blue and white everywhere and a huge map of Greece and its islands on one of the walls.

Gemma asked for a table for two and the waitress took them to their seats by one of the windows overlooking the busy streets of New York.

"Welcome to 'Mikrí Elláda'! What do you want to drink?" The waitress asked them after letting them some time to look through the menu.

"I would like some water please." Gemma said.

"Same here." Evan followed.

"And for eating?" The waitress asked next.

"I would like Pilaffs." Gemma answered straight away.

"And you sir?"

"Ermm." He hesitated, looking at the menu with intensity. "To be honest, I have never eaten Greek food so I have no idea."

The waitress and Gemma chuckled at his confessions, the later had already figured it out when she first mentioned to him about eating on a Greek restaurant.

"Do you want to give you some suggestions?" Gemma asked.

"Yes, please." He said.

"Okay, you like veg?" He nodded. "Good. Maybe you would enjoy Musaka, it has aubergine on it and it is kind of a lasagne."

"That sounds good. I will have that." He told the waitress who nodded and wrote it down on her notes.

"Why didn't you tell me that you have never eaten Greek before?" Gemma asked him as soon as the waitress left them alone.

"You looked exited to eat here so I went with the flow. Plus, I like to try new food." He confessed.

"You are something else." She said with a chuckle and a smile on her face.

"Should I take that as a compliment?" He asked with a raised brow and an amused smile.

"Yes, you should take it as a compliment." She smiled. "Now, what about you tell me something about you."

A/N: finally after so long I find some time to write and update! I know that in every update I apologize for taking so long and that I say I will try to improve my updates but I just never find time to write or update anymore. Please don't give up on me, I promise that I try my best to put something up and if I don't update is for a reason, not because I don't want to.
