Emma's family had gone into the room to make sure she was okay and when she told them that Jake would be up any minute now, they were relieved. Her family wanted her to eat something and the truth was that she was really hungry but she didn't want to leave Jake's side. Therefore, her family decided that they would go have dinner and then they would bring food for her.

It was while they were gone, when Emma sat on her chair caressing Jake's hair as she took on his features. She knew she loved him but never knew how much until this moment. She realised that he was hurting inside and she had dismissed it when he came to her.

After a few minutes, Jake groaned and moved his head slightly. The light blinded him making he groan further.

"Fuck!" He muttered as result.

"Jake?" He heard her familiar voice say.

"Oh I have definitely gone to heaven." Jake smiled as he touched her face.

"Jake you did no go to heaven. You are alive." She says making him frown.

Jake retreated his hands from her face and looked around the room realising that he was in a hospital room. He groaned and bad-mouthed some words. Eventually looking down into all the tubes connected to his body.

"How are you feeling?" She asks.

"I feel like shit." He says still avoiding her gaze.

"Do you need anything?" She asks.

"No. Well, yes, I want you to leave. I am not a charity case and I don't need your pity." He muttered angrily.

"I am not going to leave. I am not here because of pity but because I love you." She said.

"That is not what you said, you hate me and you said that we were done forever." He said.

"That was just me being bitter because I was hurt but it was pointless because I still love you no matter what." She insisted.

"Why would I believe you?" He asks unsure whether to look at her or not.

"Because you left something on my desk the last time we saw each other. I tried my hardest not to wear the ring but I put it on and I couldn't stop." She answers.

Emma puts her hand on top of one of his and he instantly spots the engagement ring he had bought a few weeks ago. He smiled at the memory of going to shop the ring with his father, one of the last things they did together before he died.

Jake's eyes filled with tears that began to fall down his face. Emma tightened her hold on his hand and pulled him closer to hug him.

"My dad died Emma." He mutters in between sobs.

"I know. I know." She whispered. "I am here for you. Let it all out."

"I can't life without him." He says.

"You can. You need to live. I need you to live. I love you." She whispered. "You put a ring on my finger so now you have to marry me."

Jake laughed at her trying to cheer him up but it was not a happy laugh, it was a sad one. Emma caressed his hair as he calmed down against her chest. After a few minutes like that, the doctor came into the room to check on him.

"Hello Jake! It's good to see you awake." Doctor Brown said.

"Hey Nick! It's been a while." Jake says with a sad smile.

"I am sorry about your loss." The doctor says.

"Thank you, Nick." Jake says sadly.

"How are you feeling?" Nick asked.

"I have a headache but I am fine." He told him.

"Good, that is normal on these cases." The doctor says. "We need to have a talk like last time."

"I know." He muttered.

"I will be back tomorrow morning and we talk, okay?" Nick asked.

"Yes." Jake answered.

"Good, now I leave you to rest." He said. "By the way, congratulations!"

The Doctor left the room while his last sentence roamed on Jake's mind. He frowned not understanding why he congratulated him, was it because he was not death? He was very confused.

"Why the hell he congratulated me?" He asks.

"Well, I think it's because you are alive and you are engaged." Emma told him nervously. "But also because you are going to be a dad."

A/N: I have finished my exams and I have a few days free before I start again with finals :/ I have been trying hard to find some time to update but it has been impossible between studying and working. 

Also I just found out Harry is at the island I live and I am loosing my shit! I wish I could see him but I know that is not going to happen.

Anyways, I am hoping I can write and post more stuff soon. Please, let me know if there are any characters you are looking forward to read about and I will try to post about them next! If I don't get any comments on that I will most likely update on Livy and Brad because I know I have already written their next one shot.
