It might take a year,
it might take a day,
but what's meant to be will always find a way.

Chapter 34 :

The Unasked Answer

Aiza's POV

It was midnight, everyone was asleep but me and sleep was out of questiom. I couldn't understand what he meant.  The reasons that hit me were too good to be true. I wanted to talk to him and clear all my doubts but I knew it wasn't possible.

I blinked back the tears that had formed in my eyes. I was not angry at him, I was just hurt. Never in the wildest of my dreams had I thought he could think so low of me.

As I looked to my side, Areeba was fast asleep. I got up and opened the door of the balcony and stood outside leaning against the railing.

The cold breeze hit me, giving chills over my face but still the breath of fresh air couldn't lessen my suffocation.

My heart felt heavy once again when I thought about the past incident. I couldn't come to a conclusion. He had never acted that way before, not with me. Had it been anyone other than him, it wouldn't have bothered me much but in this case, I was helpless.  No matter how much I tried to distract myself, those thoughts would automatically turn back running towards me.

As I turned my gaze to the left, I saw a guy sitting where earlier the game was played. He held his head in his hands and faced the ground as if deep in thoughts. Because he was at a distance, I couldn't recognize him but I wondered who's still awake at this hour of the night when everyone is fast asleep.

The person stood up from his place to leave. The moment he turned around towards my direction to go inside, I saw it was him.

As he made his way inside, suddenly he looked up on the balcony and our eyes met and he stopped where he was but I immediately made my way back in the room and closed the door behind me.  He no more looked angry, he looked worried and I had no idea what was bothering him. There were a lot of questions running in my mind but the one that had made me restless was the reason of side this side of him.

As I sat on the foot of the bed with so many thoughts in my mind, my phone beeped and it was a text from him.

" Aiza, I need to talk. Please come outside." - Hamza

What does he need to talk about now after all he said earlier?  And that too at this hour of the night. I thought it's better not to reply at the moment.

The next minute my phone rang, and the screen displayed his name. I was startled.

I hesitated picking up but when he called the second time, I answered his call.

" Aiza." He spoke in a low voice. I was silent, I just couldn't gather the courage to talk to him. " Aiza, please come down, I need to talk to you and it's really urgent." He added.

" But. .."

" Please Aiza, I'm waiting for you." He interrupted me and I hung up the call.

Going to him at this time of the night didn't feel right to me. I was moving to and fro in the room, battling with the thoughts of should I or should I not, I finally decided to give it a go.
