My heart dropped as I looked at the two. "How did the hell did you get out?!" I yelled but then I remembered Jayla was next to me so I told her to go up stairs.

"We posted bail" Mrs. Watkins said.

"No, no you can't do that"

"The judge found a mistake in the case, so they let him out until they get everything right" my lawyer said from across the room. I didn't even see him.

"My boy is just here to apologize" Mrs. Watkins said.

"Him in jail is all the apology I need" She was quiet. "I'm gonna have to ask you to leave"

"I want to talk to you" he said.

"So say it" I spat.

"Privately"

I looked him up and down and nodded my head toward the kitchen. "Come on" I said as I walked toward the kitchen. When I got inside I put the now melting ice cream in the freezer as he spoke.

"I didn't know you had kids" he said with his hands in his pockets.

"I don't" I closed the freezer and leaned against it. "What do you want?" I crossed my arms.

"I'm so sorry for everything" he walked closer to me. "And I-"

"You are too close" I cut him off.

He stopped walking and stood in the middle of the kitchen. "I care about you and I knew how much I would hurt you"

"If you knew then why did you do it!" I yelled. I knew that they could hear me in the other room but I don't care.

"I wasn't over you, you left me for him and I was angry!" He yelled back.

"For ten years?!"

"Yes! I still love you and I always will, I can't get over you, you make me crazy!"

"You tried to kill me!"

"I would never hurt you!" He walked closer and I moved away. "I'm sorry"

"Get out" I said trying to hold my tears in. "Now" He stood there looking at me but I looked at the ground. "Go! Why are you still standing here?" I yelled.

That's when he moved his feet out the kitchen and into the living room. I heard him share a few words with his mother then the front door shut.

I walked into the living room and looked at my lawyer. Chuck. "What are we gonna do about him?" I heard my voice shake so I cleared my throat.

"Well, there will be another trail in a few days. If they don't put him in a prison then he'll be in a mental institution" I nodded. "So until the trial, I want you to stay indoors. Doors locked, windows locked and I'll be sure that he stays away from you, police are monitoring him so you will be fine" he toward the door. "Don't worry he'll be gone soon, I'll call you"

"Alright" I said and he let himself out.

I sighed and pushed my hair back.

"Baby" David started. I wiped the tears from my eyes before I looked at him. "Are you ok?" He reached for me and I felt my eyes water again. He grabbed me and hugged me. "It's alright, baby I won't let anything happen to you" he whispered in my ear.
