Hide Your Love Away: book two

Chapter 7

(Paul)

"Angel...I am so so sorry I can't be there for you right now I am..." I start crying , I look around and see that everyone has gone to their rooms.

"Darling don't beat yourself up over this. I'm okay..." I can hear her crying. "Everything will be okay. I'm flying out tomorrow morning as soon as they let me check out of this damn hospital. I'm sorry... I know how excited you were to be a dad... One day darling... My mom promised me that Julia's soul will grow strong and come back to us." 

I smile, "you saw your mom eh?"

"I know it's crazy but I guess when my heart stopped she was there... holding Julia and she looked just like you. Same eyes and chubby cheeks."

"I believe you Angel..." She yawns... today has been so long for her. "Go to bed love. I'll see you soon." 

"Goodnight darling."

I got a call from Pru's dad saying she left the airport and the plane lands here in an hour. I get dressed in something nice for her... I haven't seen my love in nearly two weeks and talking over the phone doesn't help me. I need to see her face. "Come on Everybody! We need to go get Pru!"  John runs down the stairs.

"George and Lucy aren't coming to the airport... neither is Anna. I'll drive you though mate come on." John says as Ringo and Dylan come out of their room. We all pile into a car and I start picking my fingernails on the way to the airport. 

I see the plane land and I run out to the runway. Dozens of people walk down the little staircase out of the plain then I see my Angel. Tears welling up in my eyes. She's her cute little self in navy blue capri pants, a flower printed top with a rounded collar and her favorite brown sweater that I got at that thrift store in New York. She smiles when she sees me and the boys. 

Once she gets off the plain I run to her and catch her in my arms. I hug her tighter than I've ever hugged anyone before. I hear the snap of a camera and turn to see a reporter. "I'm sorry love." She shakes her head and pulls me into a kiss. "I...Missed...you..." I say in between kisses. 

"I love you darling." She starts crying. "I missed you so much Paul..." She pulls away and puts her hand on her stomach. "It's still weird not having life inside of me... but I know it's for the best."

"I'm so proud of you angel...you are so strong." I put my hands on her hips and pull her closer to me. I  can see the flash of more photos so I pull away and wave to the reporters. Prudence waves too and we follow John, Dylan, and Ringo back to the car. 

"How are you guys?" She asks. 

"We're engaged Pru." Dylan says and she turns around excitedly. "We're engaged, everyone's in love, and you're back. That makes life pretty good."

"We're fine little bird... just worried about you is all." John answers. She smiles and leans her head on my shoulder. "But we're all okay, and happy to have you home."

"Home..." she whispers. "I'm totally ready to start my new life here." I kiss her forehead and look at Ringo and Dylan in the rear view mirror. Our life together is going to be amazing,I can feel it without any doubt in my heart.
