Epilogue: We Can Only Ever Go Forward - Annabeth's POV

'Nova!'

I flinched as I heard Jason knock on my door. I rarely left my room in the palace on Chaos' planet. I prefered to spend my time sifting through my endless scrolls, looking for anything related to the elixer Chaos told us could reverse the time stream. But after 5000 years, I'd found nothing.

'Nova! Open up!'

I sighed, 'Coming, Jet.'

I threw open my door. Jason stood to attention, geared up in full celestial black armour. He would've looked like a typical determined warrior, only the excited, eager look on his face said otherwise.

'What's wrong?' I asked, immediately cautious.

His eyes lit up with minature forks of lightning, 'Chaos has found something.'

We wasted no time. I followed Jason, bolting down the halls to Chaos' throne room. I burst open the doors and ran into the room, racing forward to bow before Chaos, who I now saw as a kind of father. I barely noticed the others in the Gennaios Squad crowded around.

'Father, Jet said you have discovered something,' I said breathlessly.

'Indeed I have, Nova,' Chaos eyes shone with happiness. 'I may have found the location of the first part of the scroll. We are on our way.'

'When do we leave?' Hazel shouted eagerly.

Chaos chuckled, 'Patience, Aura. You leave tomorrow.'

'But if this just the first part,' Nico started, 'then why is it that exciting?'

'Because, Chasm, the first part should lead to the second, and the third.' Chaos smiled. 'And then we can create the elixer.'

My heart raced a million miles an hour.

We were one step closer to the elixer; one step closer to achieving our goal; one step closer to getting Percy back.

I made myself, and all the world, a promise, right then and there. And I would stop at nothing to fulfill that promise.

I swear on my life that I will bring him back to me.

Whatever it takes.
