The carriage sped off and the Prince was left behind. But that wouldn't stop him.....

*Present*

Isabella sat in the carriage next to Merlin, as they sped off away from the castle and towards the house, she gently took off her lace mask and turned to Merlin, saying, "Why did I have to leave so early?"

Merlin turned to her saying, "You need to be home and out of that dress before your stepmother and sisters return in order for them to not suspect anything, besides Abby, of course." Isabella nodded her head and sighed, she turned and looked out of the window.

The pair sat in silence as they continued to their destination. Isabella was thinking about the ball and how she felt dancing with Arthur and how she wished that she was with him right then but she couldn't, the thought of her just being a servant, she couldn't be with a Prince, because it was looked down upon.

Suddenly both of them, were pulled from their thoughts at the sound of galloping horseshoes against the gravel of the road, they turned to each other and then looked out the back of the carriage.

Racing behind was a beautiful brown horse, but the person riding the horse caught Isabella by surprise as she hadn't expected to see him again for the rest of the night,

Arthur......

Arthur

Isabella looked at Merlin and he quickly said, "Put the mask back on!"

Isabella reached for the mask and pulled it on, tying it on behind her head.

Slowly the carriage came to a holt, Merlin leapt out of the carriage just as Arthur pulled up next to the door

Slowly the carriage came to a holt, Merlin leapt out of the carriage just as Arthur pulled up next to the door. He got off of the horse and opened the door. Isabella took in a deep breath and looked at Arthur who took the seat in front of her. He looked down at his hands for a second before saying, "Why did you have to leave so soon? More importantly why did you run?"

Isabella looked away from his intense stare before whispering, "You can't know who I am, because this wouldn't work if you knew who I was." It hurt her to say the next thing but she knew it was the right thing to do because he is the next king and he marry someone who is capable of ruling a Kingdom next to him.

"I'm sorry, Arthur but I must say this, I think you should just forget about me and go back to the ball to find someone who is fit to rule alongside you in the future."

He looked up at her like this whole life had just been ripped away from him and in his case it had.

Isabella looked at him once more before she decided the best thing to do was to run home and run away from him. So that is exactly what she did, she got up off of her seat and took Arthur's hand from him and placed a soft kiss on his hand before she opened the door and ran away.

Still Arthur wouldn't let her go, he shouted, "Wait, will you please at least tell me your name?"

She stopped running and turned around, she said, "You know me and I know you, but as I said before I cannot tell you who I am for the safety of myself and you."

With that said, she ran again but he didn't stop her all he said, mostly to himself was, "I will find you and I do not care how long it takes I will find you for I still have your glass slipper

What he didn't realize was that Merlin was still there and he had heard everything, smiling Merlin turned and ran back to the castle very eager to see Isabella the next day when she goes to the town for the shopping, and to tell her that Arthur is not going to give up on her.
