Isabella had stopped working at her step-mother's house when Gaius offered to her step-mother that he would take her away and that she could live at the palace with Merlin. Her step-mother agreed before he was finished his sentence.
She helped Gwen do the cleaning in the rooms and helped wash the clothing. She helped Gaius attend to people who were sick as she had learned a lot being with them for a while. She had the soft touch that the people needed sometimes and the children liked her. She felt that she might have finally been free until one day when she sat with Gaius and Merlin in Gaius' room.
Merlin reading a book while Gaius worked on something. Isabella just sat by Merlin's room, lost in her own thoughts. Her mind was replaying all the moments she had ever had with Arthur. From the first day they met in the market to when he declared that he wished to marry her and crown her as Queen of Camelot. She thought of Jesse and Violet who was now here in Camelot.
She thought of the looks of worry that Merlin and Bella had shared when they went to her ruin. She thought of when she saw her mother for the first time in years. Her thoughts were interrupted when Violet burst through the door and stopped catching her breath as she locked eyes with Isabella.
Violet's eyes told something and from the look Isabella could tell that it would not be good news. Violet smiled at Gaius and Merlin before she moved and sat next to Isabella. Grabbing her hands, she looked to the ground and took in a deep breath before saying, "Arthur is to be married to a Lady in the next week or so."
Isabella's heart dropped as she looked at Violet who gave her a soft sad smile. Tiny glistening tears of sadness fell down Isabella's rosy cheeks before she even realized how badly the news had affected her. Violet pulled Isabella out of the seat and into a warm hug. Merlin was up and out of the room before Isabella could even tell him not to go. She knew exactly where he was going. He was going to speak to Arthur.
Isabella stood next to Violet and waited for Merlin to return however he was taking longer than normal and Isabella decided that she needed to get some fresh air and go for a walk by the forest and maybe she will find her mother again. She told the others that she was just going out for a while and will be back just before dinner.
She left the room and walked with her head down to the forest, not looking at anyone or anything. The demons in her head were killing her soul as she walked away, her mind was thinking should she stay and watch as the love of her life got married to another lady.
She went deeper and deeper in the forest and just let her mind wonder. She lost track of time and soon it was time to go back and have dinner with Gaius and Merlin. She turned around and went back to the castle and as she was going through the corridors towards Gaius' room she came face to face with the person she did not want to see anytime soon. Arthur. But he was not alone. Next to him stood the one and only Angela. Hanging on his arm she stared at Isabella as if she had just seen the dirt stand up and walk towards her.
Isabella took in a deep breath and said, "Sire." And bowed softly before moving to the side of him and walking away. She heard the calls for her to stop and wait so he could explain but she kept walking. She walked and walked until she reached the familiar door of Gaius' room. She pushed the door open and rushed inside.
Merlin leapt out of his seat as soon as she came into view saying, "Where have you been? You were supposed to be here an hour ago."
Isabella looked at Merlin and said, "I lost track of time then happened to run into Arthur and his Bride on the way here."
Merlin looked at her and gave her a small sad smile and motioned for her to take a seat and have some food. He then decided to speak, "Izzy, I have spoken to Arthur and he said that it was of his father's doing that he is to marry Lady Angela. As the King is not going to live long and as he is the crowned Prince he is to marry in order to take the throne after his father dies."
