(1 year later)
"Kimberly I need to speak to you." Mr. Clark said.
"Yes, boss. What shall I do?" Kimberly replied.
"You shall do nothing."
"Oh, well okay, do you need me stay over time cleaning the tables in the back."
"No, What I need to say is that I am sorry to say, that we need to let you go."
"You mean your firing me?"
"Yes. I am saying that. I am sorry."
"May I ask why."
"Of course. We don't need you any more, we are running low on money and we can't afford all of our employees so we decided to let one of our employees go, and we all decided you. So good bye. And you don't get a discount anymore, since you don't work here any longer."
"Oh" she pauses "Okay, I understand." Kimberly walks out the door, trying not tear up, gets in her car and heads home.

"Hey mom, your home early."
"I just got laid off."
"Oh, mom. I would ask if your alright, but uh, your obviously not, so I'm going to say at least you have the whole day now, to lay in bed watching TV until you can get up off your feet. In a good way."
"I guess. Who cares anyways, that job sucked. To be honest, they were a rip off, and the boss was a jerk."
"Yeah I know."

They sat in silence, until the doorbell rang.

Hello, I was just checking in. See how everybody is doing."
"Well, I got laid off at my job."
"Oh that's not good." He pauses, "Hey, actually there is an opening as a secretary at the station, maybe you can apply."
"Oh, I don't know Darrell, don't I have to go to school to work there?"
"No, just apply an application, turn it in, check in with the manager, and I'm sure you'll get in. I can go get you an application, if you like."
"Thanks, but you don't have to do that."
I know I don't need to, I want to. Come on, its a great opportunity."
"Oh, well, I guess I can give it a try. Thank Darrell."
"Yea no problem. See yeah in a little bit."
"Okay."

Hours later Darrell came back with an application. Explains what to do and when to start as soon as she starts.

Weeks later she starts the job.

"Well, you need help with anything, finding your way around?"
"No, I think I've been here plenty of times to know where everything is."
"Right. I am sorry."
"For?"
"Not finding Piper. I wish I could of done something."
"Oh, it's okay. You did the best you could."
"NO, I didn't" He shouted and walks away.
"Darrell!"
No response.

Months after months of working, still nothing of Piper. Until .........
