I'm No Doll
Phoebe was very happy. Today was her birthday, and she had gotten exactly what she wanted. An authentic Monster High Clawdeen Wolf Gloom Beach doll. She was so excited and happy with her present that she ran to her parents and hugged and kissed each of them.
They didn't know, of course, why Phoebe was so happy. They had gotten her a Barbie movie for her birthday and put it in her desk drawer for her to find. They knew it wasn't what she wanted, but Phoebe's birthday was so close to Christmas that the dolls had sold out.
Phoebe's parents concluded that Phoebe was very understanding and happy with what she got anyway, so they never gave Phoebe's behavior another thought.
Except, Phoebe wasn't sure why her parents left the doll outside her door. They always hid her presents in her room, so she could find them. But, she was happy with the doll anyway. And she had a Barbie movie, too! Phoebe decided that this was officially the best birthday ever.
