Chapter Six
Phoebe was obsessed with Monster High. During her night in the hospital, her daddy had read her five whole chapters from the first book. Her mother was teaching her how to sew together a pillow, so she had begun to sew herself a Monster High pillow. She slept on it, that one night in the hospital, even though it wasn't finished.
The next day, a Thursday, her mother made her stay home, just in case. She watched the Monster High Fright On episode on Nick, then watched all the episodes in order on the Monster High website.
Clawdeen and Abbey had many adventures together that Thursday.
When Abbey got sick with Monster Flu, Clawdeen ventured to the top of a large mountain to get the flower needed for the Monster Elixir.
When Kendra the Barbie was captured by the evil Dr. Purple Pony, Abbey distracted the malevolent mare with a horse treat, while Clawdeen swooped in and saved Kendra from falling into a pit of melted butter.
Clawdeen led the Final Cheer for her Fearleading team, while Abbey watched carefully and cheered from the sidelines.
Phoebe styled both their hair and convinced her mother to make pretty dresses for the dolls, so they could go to the Monster High Anniversary Dance.
For lunch, Phoebe had carrots and rice, while the two monsters ate in the creepateria she'd set up in her room.
Phoebe used books from her bookshelf to make a castle bigger than she was, and made the two dolls Princesses of the Monster Kingdom. Kendra the Barbie Played the role of the wicked witch, who captured the two princesses and held them in her black cave, which was located under Phoebe's bed.
Heath Burns and Holt Hyde, played by Mason and Rupert the Barbies, rescued the two princesses and became princes for their brave and magnificent feats.
And when Phoebe went to bed that Wednesday night, she slept with both Abbey and Clawdeen, and wondered what it would be like to be a monster.
