7: References, Potatoes and Titans

I was frozen in my spot.

I couldn't move; I felt like I was about to cry and I was shaking slightly. I didn't know what to do. My head started to feel heavy and light at the same time, but I didn't quite fall or pass out. My vision was blurring around the edges, but I regained focus at the male standing ahead of me.

"Okuda." Karma's tone was stern as he apporached me. My heart began to thump faster. He suddenly relaxed. "Who were you talking about?" My face was a deep shade of red that, by some miracle, was redder than that boy's hair.

"I was talking about Asano, yeah, we've been friends for a while. Since high school, you know? She's been way too talkative with him and..." I'm 99% sure that I made this situation so much worse than it was. I've definitely screwed myself over. "I-"

"Okuda, stop lying." I looked away to hide my face. He looked so pissed it's unreal, like he had the opportunity to get revenge on the titan that killed his parents."O-ku-da."

"I'm just... I..." I needed to run. "I'm sorry, Karma-kun!" I turned and bolted down the pavement like we were playing tag.

Well, at least, I imagined I was doing so.

"I'm not gonna let you go until you tell me~"

I was a blushing mess. He was holding onto me tightly so I couldn't escape and run off to my car. I breathed in and out then relaxed.

"I guess I got a little... jealous..." I could sense the smirk on his face. "...so I told her to stay away from you..."

"Oooooooh~ Sounds like you got a crush on yours truly~" Damn him. "I guess I am just that handsome."

He released me and stuck out his tongue. "Next time, try not to drop potions that will kill me and your friend, and try not to threaten anyone anymore. I don't want you to become a murderous psycho. It takes away from your charm~"

I looked to the ground. I felt awful, like I just burned his favourite jacket.

"I-I'm sorry, I really am!" Karma bent down to my height, because I am a short potato, face stationary once more.

"Don't be sorry." He looked behind me. "So... where's your car parked?"

"It's in the parking garage!" I nodded sarcastically, my eyes telling him that yes, I parked my car in the ditch. It's in the ditch, of course! He walked with me to my car.

"Meet you back at Asano's house. He's cooking." I smiled, waved bye, then backed out and drove off.

He's mine. He will always be mine. And if she interferes, she will get what she deserves. She will pay the price.

No matter the cost.

Karma's POV:

I exhaled sharply as I sat in the front seat of my car. An annoyed look played on my face.

"Okuda needs to... chill." I muttered, shoving my keys into the ignition. "I can't deal with this running away drama."

When I made it to the house, Okuda looked pale but alright. She sat quietly watching TV on the couch.

I want these words to make things right, but it's the wrongs that make the words come to life...

But who does she think she is...?

I sighed heavily and went into my room, sitting peacefully on my bed and thinking.

What is her deal?!

I know jealousy can be weird, but this is really strange. She started panicking because I was talking to Elizabeth and just ran off.

I need this to end. And there's only one way for that to happen.
