Chapter 42:
"Go!" I can hear the fear in Louis' voice, "There's another one. G-go!"
"Another what?" Cameron is already mad, "Give me a second."
The engine started, just when a long, crackling, and obnoxious moan slipped through the door. It's one of those- things. One of the rabies infested beings. They're uncontrollable. Biters.
"That's why!" Liam screams, "Oh my God. Ther- There's more."
I glance briefly out Liam's window.
*Thud*
A crazed biter slams into the window and Liam grabs onto me. "Holy shit!"
The car skids and jumps around the rough and ragged trail. Liam pulls me closer and I hold onto him like he is the last thing I have. He actually was, in a sense.
He had his arm wrapped around my waist and put his other hand on my neck. His hot breath released on my cold neck and chest.
Cyndi was shaking and crying, Harry was leaning on the console trying to calm her, "Shh, it's okay, it's okay."
My stomach turns, I can't believe that a disease could turn a person into an animal. They lose all control of everything. "Jesus.." I unknowingly whisper aloud.
Liam senses my fear, he squeezes me tighter in his arms, "I know sweetheart, I know, you're okay."
We swerve on the road, hitting rocks left and right. I see lights ahead of the truck, "we're here," Cam mumbles.
