Survive (Annie x Eren)

Chapter 2

It was just as well that Annie had insomnia; that weird guy she bumped into the night before kept her awake, tossing and turning all night. She tried to place a name with his face, but she feared the lack of sleep over the past few years had pretty much destroyed all chances of her remembering half the stuff she should, but that was just a theory.

"Ar-... Im-.." She started muttering to herself. "Ol-... Arrhh  FUCK IT!" She stormed out of the room, rousing a few people, after grabbing her hoody and heading for the village.

She'd ran around the entire village before finally cooling down, and then resumed her usual hands-in-pockets-head-down-steady-pace walk around, hoping to bump into the brown-haired beau- gets slapped. I mean brown-haired young man once more.

She'd wander mindlessly again and again, around the village over and over, for days, even a couple weeks had passed, and she'd seen nothing of this man. 'Maybe he's part of the Survey Corps.. Maybe he fucking died.. Why do you give a shit anyways? You don't even know the guy, just let him go..' But she couldn't. He was constantly on her mind, but whether that was because she doesn't know who he is but his face looks familiar, or she's madly in love with hi- gets slapped by Annie. YAWHAW! .. Okay, well that option's out of the question apparently... For now. winks. Right okay anyways..

As she wandered the roads of the village / district (whatever you want to call it), with her head down, hands in her pockets, just like before. But she saw no one, unless you count some stray cats and crows as people. On her way back, she was almost at the doors to the cabins when she was yanked into a dark alleyway and thrown firmly against a wall. A hand clutched her by my throat, lifting her up and tossing Annie aside into another wall, as if was nothing. She smiled, knowing who it was. "You didn't fight back? Peculia-.." He'd spoken too soon. Within a matter of seconds Annie Leonhart had hurled the man at the wall, picked him up, and held him in a headlock. "Oh didn't I?" She ruffles his hair, and then lets him go, smiling in the shadows.

"So.. Where do you want to go when you've finished your training?" Eren smiled as he looked over at Annie, her thinking for a few seconds. "Military Police Brigade.. Yourself?" She signaled at his clothing; he too was wearing what I was, the uniform. Annie saw his face drop a little. He merely sighed and lay down on the grass, looking expectantly at her, as if he expected her to follow what he was doing. When Annie merely looked away, returning her gaze to the moon and stars, Eren answered. "Survey Corps." Then she understood why he seemed disappointed, if not upset, that she was going to the Military Police Brigade. Possibly feeling guilt rising in her stomach, but from what she didn't know, she lay back on the soft grass with him, and stayed silent for a few seconds. The silence was broken by Eren making an 'asdf' joke.

"It's just you, me and the moon."

Annie imitated the moon's voice, chuckling a little. "You two should kiss!"

They both rolled over in fits of laughter, their sense of humour obviously similar, if not the same. Once they'd cooled off, Eren and Annie were closer than ever, their shoulders over one another. And for the first time in a long time, she felt safe, and started to blush. Eren started to move his hand and touched her cheek, moving her head to face him as he made eye contact and got lost in the sea of blue that was her eyes. She'd never felt like this. She'd never felt safe, warm. But before she could react, Eren's lips came gently onto hers..
