Chapter 15

Meanwhile..

Annie's pov

'I'm .. I.. Eren is dead. The only person I've ever loved since...'

I couldn't focus. I couldn't sleep, or eat. Hell, I could barely even finish a fucking thought. My mind was swirling with a bunch of different thoughts though.

'He's gone.'

'He probably never loved you anyways.'

'You have nothing left to live for.'

'Just do it.'

'If you do, then you'll finally be able to see him again!'

'Or even better, you'll be gone of this world, and it's one less person the Titans have to digest.'

'You'd probably just upset their stomach you piece of shit.'

'Tch, couldn't even protect the one you loved, AGAIN.'

"Shut the FUCK UP!" I yelled, startling the nurse. I was finding it harder to cope; every day that passed was like another day in hell. Fuck, life is hell. I was hearing voices, most of them telling me to just kill myself.

The nurse looked at me. "I-... Sorry." I looked down, feeling something warm start to fall down my face. Tears? I wiped them away quickly, turning back to the nurse as her soft voice spoke.

"Don't worry, sweetie. Are the voices still there?" I nodded. "I'm sorry we can't do anything about that, I truly am. I'm also sorry that it seems like there's barely anything in here, but we need to make sure you don't hurt yourself again." I nodded, shuffling down the bed and resting my head back on the pillow. I closed my eyes and drifted off into a deep sleep.

Eren's pov

'Did Levi just.. Did I just.. What?' I was stunned. 'Corporal fucking Levi just saved my ass.'

I walked over to the Corporal, bowing my head a little.

"T-thank you sir.." He looked up at me, rolling his eyes.

"Tch, sod off you little brat. The last thing I need is to go 'round saving your stupid little ass every 5 seconds." I smirked a little as I walked away, his 'pissed off-ness' pretty funny once you get used to it. I headed over to where the Commander was, looking at plans and maps for the expedition they were currently on.

"Ehm, sorry. Excuse me, Commander, sir?" He looked away from the papers and his gaze met mine. He smiled a little, nodding at me.

"Didn't mean to disturb you, but how am I to get back to the Wall? I do apologize for kinda messing up your expedition." I looked down, but the Commander merely shook his head.

"No no! No need to apologize, it wasn't your fault. I'm only glad we found you when we did, can't go losing such good-skilled soldiers like you." He smiled warmly at me. I returned it, and thanked him.

"But Commander, sir-"

"Call me Erwin."

'Wait, did he just give me permission to call his name.. informally? What the fu-'

"What is it you were going to ask me, sorry?" My thoughts were cut across.

"Oh sorry, co- .. Erwin. I was wondering if I could borrow a horse? You know, to get back.." He nodded.

"Of course, yes yes. If anything, I'll get Levi to go with you back to the Walls. We don't need anything more to happen to you." And with that I was dismissed.

"Tch, can't believe I'm stuck with a brat like you.." Levi muttered. I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry, SIR, didn't mean to get kidnapped." I instantly regretted saying that.

'Shit.'

"You better've been joking about that, or at least shitting yourself for what's coming next." I froze.

'Shit shit shit you IDIOT!'

"Yes, you are an idiot, Jaeger. Keep your words to yourself next time." I was stunned. Did I just get off.. Without a punishment? But wait, did he also just read my mind? What the actual fuck just happened?

We pulled up outside the walls, and I was thrown inside before the gate closed again. We'd had to kill-... Levi'd had to kill a few Titans on the way, but the rest were either out-run, or distracted by something else, (we had no idea what, but we were just thankful).

I saluted Levi, once more thanking him before sprinting off inside to the training grounds to see everyone, most of all Annie.

I ran into the training grounds, and was tackled to the floor by everyone who came rushing from their places and collapsed on me, hugging me and shouting questions. But something was wrong. I'd managed to clear everyone off of me, and ignored their questions. I turned to Armin and Mikasa.

"Where's Annie?" They shared a glance.

'Annie, Annie, Annie!'

I couldn't ... No! I was scared. 'Would she know I was real? Would she still care.. ?' I blocked these thoughts from my head as I sprinted to reception and practically yelled 'Annie Leonhart' at the lady behind the desk, accidentally startling her.

"Sorry.." I calmed down a little, and walked quickly/jogged to her room. I was about to go in when Hanji emerged from the room, her brow creased.

{{ I should probably mention, Hanji Zoe is someone from the Survey Corps, and is kinda a doctor. She does a lot of experiments on Titans and stuff, and she's crazy :") }}

"Hanji? Is she okay? What happened? Can I see her?" I threw a load of questions at her, and she looked in pity at me. ".. Hanji?"

"Yes, you can go in... But she's in .." She sighs. "She's in a bad condition, and probably won't think you're real. So don't worry if she starts to freak, just call me back in." I nodded, starting to open the door slowly.

'What was I going to see? Was she okay?'

I stopped, my hand on the door handle. I couldn't bring myself to go in. Honestly? I was scared. 'What would she think, would she even remember who I was? Fuck it! It's now or never you little brat. Woah.. I sound like Levi!' I smiled at my thoughts, but frowned again once I realized where I was.

'Shit.'

I held my breath, and slowly opened the door. The room was a white-ish cream colour, with a few things here and there, but nothing much. I turned my attention to the bed in the center of the room, only to be mortified with what I saw.

Red. Everywhere.

"ANNIE!" I screeched. Hanji came rushing in, and then called for help.

"Annie! Annie! ANNIE!"
