Survive (Annie x Eren)

Chapter 19

Annie's pov

I winced in pain as I felt the Titan's teeth crunch down into my waist. I held back screaming, but the tears came flooding out. I felt it happen in slow motion; the crunching; the pain; the blackness.

"E-..E-..Er-"

Darkness.

Eren's pov

No matter how much I begged, no matter how much I cried, mourned her death, she wasn't coming back. I extended my hand, even though I knew I couldn't touch her; she was too high.

'SHIT!! ANNIE! PLEASE!!'

My mouth was open, yet I couldn't say a thing. I couldn't move, it was like I was paralyzed.

'I... I-.. I love you..'

My hand was outstretched, my mouth was open, and my eyes were leaking hot, salty tears. This was it. She was really gone.

The top half of her body collapsed to the floor as the Armored Titan cut her in half, that sick, ridiculous grin on his face.

And only now had I finally found my voice.

"FUCK YOU YOU SICK BASTARD!" I cried out, anchoring myself to a nearby tree and swooshing in behind it, attempting to slice it's nape. But Reiner was too quick. He swatted my away like I was a fly and I crashed into a tree, coughing up blood. I was blinded by my fury, and was charging in recklessly, being swatted away every time.

"How.. Could you? You trained with her. You trained with me! And for how many years? You and Berthold are sick ASSHOLES and you deserve nothing more than to be sliced and diced until there's nothing left of you." I spat, breathing heavily. His eyes glowed as he knelt down in front of me and picked me up by my scruff. I closed my eyes, tears still streaming down my face. As he started lowering me into his mouth, I had an idea.

I lashed out, my vision a little blurred from the tears but not enough to phase me. Yes! I caught his fingers, and they came off smoothly. I shot at his shoulder and narrowly missed his hand attempting to grab and crush me. I ran around his neck twice, shooting around everytime I fell. And then with one swift cut, I sliced through his nape and spun around, shooting to the back of his head and keeping my balance as he fell to the ground, landing right next to Annie.

"Serves you right you son of a bitch."

I walked over to the open nape to see Reiner there, a deep wound in his arm.

"This is for mum. This is for Annie. This is for every fucking person you've killed, or caused the death of. See you in hell, bitch."

I stabbed my blade through Reiner's skull and watched as the life from his eyes faded.

I heard him whisper faintly before his body went limp. I turn my gaze to Annie's lifeless body (well the top half).

"I will kill every last Titan for you, I swear to any cruel god out there. I will avenge my mother too.. I will avenge everyone who has died at the hands of a Titan, I promise." I mutter. I jump off the Armored Titan as it's body started to disintegrate, and picked up Annie.

'I'm not leaving you here.'

I ran back to HQ, tears streaming more than ever before down my face.

"Eren?"

"What happened?"

"Why are you covered in blood?"

"Are you okay?"

"Is that-"

Everyone turned their attention to Annie. I close my eyes and hold Annie closer, walking slowly this time, to Erwin's office.

*Knock knock knock*

"Enter." I heard Erwin's calm voice from the other side of the door. I slowly open it and walk in, pain in my eyes and my face tear stained and red.

"Eren? What hap-" His gaze caught sight of Annie's body, and his face fell.

"Eren I'm so sorry..." You could see he was mourning the death of her, but he refused to show it in his face.

"Was there anyone else?" I couldn't speak, no matter how hard I tried. So I just shook my head.

"Re-.. Reiner.. Is... Dead..." I managed to squeeze out. He nodded.

"Take Annie to the morgue, a memorial for her will be held in 2 days."

I nodded and headed out towards the morgue.

No one was eating properly, except for Sasha of course. But even she was eating less than normal.

"She's... Really gone.. Huh?" I heard Armin whisper. I nodded, keeping my head down. After lunch (well more like supper), we headed back to the cabins and slept, except I didn't. Once everyone was asleep, I headed over to the cliff where we used to sit and lie through the night, and fall asleep in each others arms.

I hit the grass. "Fuck! Why.. Why did you go? Why did you kill your own life, instead of letting mine die?! I CAN'T FUCKING LIVE WITHOUT YOU!" I screamed into the silent night, whimpering and crying until I was completely dry, and nothing more'd come out. "I'm sorry... I failed you... I didn't keep my promise."

Flashback

I held Annie close to me as she cuddled into my chest.

"I love you, Annie. More than anything in the world.. And I promise to keep you safe, no matter what. I promise you will live to see the race of the Titans become extinct."

She laughed a little. "You can't promise that.." She pecked me quickly on the lips.

"But I do."

Back to reality

"I'm so.. so sorry.. I love you..." I collapsed on the ground, my brain threatening to switch off. I shook my head, trying to stay awake, but it didn't work. I fell asleep in a matter of seconds, and just lay there, almost motionless under the stars and the moon, like me and Annie used to.

'I can't do this anymore.. I miss you too much Annie.. Please come back.'

{{Aaaaaaannddddd HEY GUYS!... Yeah, that was the last chapter :'( It was awesome writing it though, and I'm sorry if it was boring :// I didn't follow the storyline of the Anime or the Manga, well not completely anyways. I added some bits from the Anime in though, but I won't say which bits so I don't spoil it ;) I really hope you enjoyed it, and no there will not be a sequel if you were hoping for one.
