Survive (Annie x Eren)

Chapter 12

Annie's pov

It was just another normal day of training. It was just another normal day for me. Avoid contact with anyone but the Instructor, leave early for lunch, and go to the spot under the shade of the trees, where I broke m own heart, and Eren's, to eat. After lunch I went back to training, but we used the 3DMG today. And my god, if we weren't we would've been in big trouble I tell ya.

As we were flying, as we were free, a sudden bolt of lightning struck somewhere outside the walls, and next thing you know the red, skinless face of the Colossal Titan appeared, and charging in came the Armored Titan. Everyone freaked, but the 104th Squad managed to keep their cool and went on to destroy as many Titans as they could. But instead of going for the normal and abnormal Titans charging around the place, Eren went for the Colossal Titan. We may not have been together, but I still love him and I'm not about to let him die. So I followed him.

Eren's pov

I knew that the 104th Squad would be able to take care of themselves, I knew they'd be able to survive. So I went for the Colossal. He was still in sight when I was going for him, so I went faster and faster, determined not to lose him this time. Oh no, I wasn't letting him escape. Not again.

I started running up the wall, and jumped the last meter. I stood upright, face to face with the Colossal Titan. I heard another person come scrambling up the wall, and next thing you know Annie's beside me. She avoided eye contact, and jumped off the wall.

"Come on, this was your idea so do what you have to." She yelled, smiling up at me.

I nodded, and jumped onto the Titans' arm as Annie distracted him. I hooked onto the area around it's nape and was about to slice through it but I was grabbed by a big ass hand and shoved into the Colossal Titan's mouth.

"SHIT!" I screeched as I fell through. The last thing I saw was Annie on top of the wall, looking in horror as it's mouth closed. Although surprisingly enough, I wasn't swallowed. The Colossal Titan kept me under it's tongue, encased in a cocoon of saliva (ew!), and then it went black.

Annie's pov

I was crying my eyes out at this point in time. I'd done the exact opposite of what I'd planned. I'd let Eren die! Did I get him killed? Was it because of me? I had all these thoughts running through my head as I jumped off the wall after watching the Colossal and Armored Titan disappear into thin air. I took out my rage and sadness on the Titans, expertly slicing every nape in sight without sweating a drop.

Overtime, I couldn't breathe. I felt my chest tighten and my vision go blurry. 'He's really gone..' I collapsed on a rooftop, tears streaming down my face. I couldn't move, I felt paralyzed. 'What's happening to me? Why can't I move? What... SHIT, TITAN!' A 15 meter class abnormal Titan was running frantically towards me. 'Shit shit shit! Annie get the fuck up right now!' My body lay limp, no matter how hard I tried to move. 'No no no! FUCK!' More tears started streaming down my face at the thought of not being able to avenge my father. 'ANNIE GET THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW!' But it was no use. No matter how much I screamed internally at myself, no matter how much I tried to move, I was stuck. I was paralyzed, and nothing I did would change that. 'I'm sorry Eren.. Dad..'

"Annie no-" I heard someone screaming my name and felt my body get lifted up effortlessly. My eyes were shut, but tears continued leaking through. I could hear the screams and shouts of the citizens and soldiers all around me, but eventually they faded out and everything went silent until I heard a familiar high-pitched ringing in my ears, and then I blacked out.
