The institute had transformed. Clary had wanted something simple and small, but of course, Isabelle couldn't accept that. She'd held back on the bling, but the wedding was nothing short of extravagant. Simon could see Julian Blackthorn herding up all of his siblings with the help of his parabatai, Emma Castairs, who was simultaneously greeting her relative and former silent brother, Jem Castairs and his wife, Tessa Gray. The cold stone walls were covered with billowing white satin, and two sets of chairs created an aisle in between them. At one end of the aisle was a gauze curtain that countless guests walked through before finding their assigned seats. Assigned seating arrangements was something Clary had been pretty firm about, and Jace had let Clary have whatever she wanted. At the other end was a slightly raised platform with a structure that looks like a collection of golden vines. Two of the vines went higher than the others and crossed over before forming a small holder at the end of each one that contained a glowing stele, which Jace and Clary would use to draw marital runes on each other. For all their planning, Simon couldn't believe this day had finally come. Funny, when Simon had always pictured Clary's dream wedding as a teenager, he had always seen himself at the end of the aisle. Now, he was so glad that hadn't been reality. His life with Isabelle was absolutely perfect, even if they had only been married 8 months. He had Clary in the same building, the most beautiful wife in the world, who he was absolutely in love with, and he wouldn't change a thing. He wouldn't even change all of the suffering Valentine and Sebastian put them through. After all, he wouldn't be Simon without all of that pain. All of these thoughts ran through his head as he sat down in his seat in the first row, right next to the aisle. He was sitting with Magnus on his left to keep him company since Alec and Issabelle would be standing with Jace and Clary, with Izzy being a bridesmaid and Alec being Jace's Parabatai. Simon had wanted to be up there with Clary, but she had chosen to have bridesmaids rather than her Parabatai with her, since it was the closest she could get to a mundane wedding, and she felt like part of her is still mundane thanks to her upbringing. Simon knew the feeling and had respected her wishes, ignoring wahat he wanted. It wasn't his wedding, after all.
