Chapter 1:

Lapis' P.O.V

"That's stupid, Pearl," Lapis said with an obvious anger in her voice. "how do you expect me to get along with her? We've been enemies since almost kindergarten! You can't just turn things around!"

Pearl laughed and fixed her backpack on her shoulder. "What else are you going to do?" She asked with another small giggle.

"You can't stay mad at each other forever. Plus, what did she even do to you for her to make you so mad? Vise Versa."

Looking down and frowning, Lapis' blue hair fell into her face as she answered calmly, "It's none of your business to know." 

Why was Pearl so nosey? I know that's just who she is, but it kind of gets on my nerves.

Pearl and I have only been friends for a few years, same goes to Amethyst and Garnet. But Peridot... she's a whole nother story.

-Flashback-

It all started in 1st grade. We were friends in Kindergarten, but then the number grades started taking a nasty turn. 

Our teacher, Mrs. Agate, had to be the best teacher in the world. We would always finish lessons early, and since we had time left, we just got to mess around. It was amazing.

There was a play mat, building blocks, some kiddie board games, and even a sandbox!

My personal favourite was the sandbox, only because I grew up on a beach, and now lived in the suburbs in the east.

Lapis' P.O.V

Running over to the (what seemed to me as) the giant sandbox, I pushed past the slower kids and plopped down in the little red sandbox and giggled cutely. 

I picked up the little blue shovel and started digging in the sand, seeing if I could make it to the bottom. The box was rather deep, and most kids gave up after a while. But I was determined. 

I strongly shoved the shovel into the sand, hearing the plastic against the wood box, and smiled widely. I victoriously shoveled the sand and found the bottom, covered in dirt and lost shells and other particles. 

Standing up, I was about to show off my magnificent progress to the other kids, until I saw a yellow blur in the corner of my eye, and the sound of shifting sand.

"Hey! What are you doing?" I screamed in my annoying high voice at a really tiny girl. She was so short, she barely even could stand in the box! I 

Watching in horror as she kicked the sand back into the hole I made with her tiny bare feet, my face turned red with anger.

"Come on! Seriously?" I yelled a little louder, causing the little girl to look up at me with bright green eyes and blonde hair neatly put in a little ponytail at the top of her head, looking like a fountain. 

I frowned and pushed her, yelling, recognizing her face. She fell back, her glasses falling off her face and into the sand. 

A loud clunk was heard, her head hitting the box. Hard. I gave an evil smirk and walked out of the sandbox, laughing. 

"Mrs. Agate..." The little girl cried, tears emitting from her big eyes. "I want my mommy!" She started crying louder and curled up in a ball in the messy play thing, sand getting in her hair and little overalls.
