Lapis' P.O.V

Learning the runt was in my homeroom made my life feel like complete shit. 

I knew she was going to bother the crap out of me, 24/7, trying to apologize. Also, I don't want to tell Pearl this to her face, but I have no intention of apologizing or making it up to her in any way. 

Pearl likes everyone to be happy, and I like that about her, but if she were me in this situation, she wouldn't want to be sappy either. She told me the least I could do is to say sorry in a letter or whatever so I wouldn't have to do it to her stupid, blonde face.

But, I'm out of homeroom now, and we're on locker time. Science went smoothly, so did World Studies. Steven is in most of my classes, which made them a thousand times better than usual.

Garnet runs over to me suddenly with a distressed look on her face and runs her hand through her hair nervously and says quietly, "You know, uh, Lapis... Jasper is giving Peridot a pretty hard time right now... help?"

Ugh. Ruining my reading time to help the runt.

"I would, but she kinda deserves it." I didn't even look over to see what was going on with Peridot. Whatever was going on, I couldn't care less.

The tall girl frowned and fixed her sunglasses with a frown and walked away. I heard her mutter something along the lines of, bitch, but I knew she wouldn't say that about me. She's one of my only friends, despite the constant conflict.

A loud CRASH disrupted me from my reading. I dropped the book from surprise and lost my page, looking over to the source of the noise.

Peridot.

She was up against a crinkled locker, glasses broken and her body bruised.

I tried to blow it off and get back to my reading, but I realized the severe damage Jasper did.

The buff blondie smiled and cracked her knuckles with a laugh, spitting on her ground. 

"You ain't got a soul here that would love you. No kidding you make so many ene-" Jasper cut short and fell to the ground with a loud thunk!

Garnet stood in her place, fixing her sleeves and brushing her hands. "Night, night, now big birdie. You're not needed here." The girl looked up at the crowd around her and gave them a furious and vicious look, that no one needed to see her eyes to understand.

"Every single one of you standing here, better get your asses back to you classes and tell the principal what happened. And if you start lying, I'll hunt you down. This school ain't big enough for me." She yelled and stomped her foot, causing everyone to run away in fear.

Peridot's P.O.V

"H-huh?..." 

Everything was black in my eyes and mind. I couldn't see, I couldn't hear.

Am I dead? Am I dying? 

Wake up, Peridot. Wake up. I kept telling myself over and over, until, a bright light came into view. I started blinking, waking up.

The first thing I saw was a white light, right above my head, and a large number of people around me. I seemed to be in some sort of bed...

Ugh... everything hurts. Can I move? 

Once my sight was fully regained, I looked around, everything still blurry. Glasses were put on my face by a woman in a light pink skirt and white shirt... she had red hair. And next to her, a woman with poofy black hair and dark skin in a suit. After that, a short girl with brown hair and a jumper...

In the corner?... It wasn't... Lapis?

I sat up and rubbed my eyes under my glasses and rubbed my bruised back. 

"O-Ow!..." I yelled and fell back down onto the soft bed. 

"Peri! You alright in there?" I heard a familiar voice ask me, a long-haired figure wearing a baseball cap lean above me.

"A-Amethyst?" I asked smiling, but the smile fading quickly from pain. And Garnet, Pearl, and Steven! "Guys... where am I?"

Amethyst held out her hand and pulled me up answering, "The hospital, P. You got beef with Jasper and she gave you a beating." She said forcing back a smile.

Pearl frowned and yelled, "Amethyst!" She came over to the side of the bed and held my hand and calmly explained. "I wasn't present, but a locker broke during the fight. You're pretty severely bruised. Jasper is expelled and is somewhere else. You're safe with us."

Her smile reassured me, as always. But one thing was running through my mind, why is Lapis here? She hates me. All because of something in Kindergarten. And well... a few other things as well.

"Lapis!" I weakly called, the blue haired girl giving me a sad glance and then quickly looking away, turning her back to the door away from me.

Looking over to the rest of my friends, I gave them a confused look, wanting an answer.

"She didn't tell us why she came, she just gave us a mean eye and then got in the ambulance. She won't talk, she won't even read. It's like she's frozen." Garnet clarified looking over at a solemn Lapis.

I picked up the mirror next to me and looked at myself, broken glasses and all.

There was a black eye, some missing hair, bloody mouth and nose, and bruises. This sure had to be the worst fight I've been in with Jasper, except, I didn't fight back.

A doctor walked in and threw open the door saying, "Hello, Miss Anika. I'm Doctor Jet. I'm supposed to send you off with your proper casting and bandages, and your friends can check you out of the hospital." The man blabbered.

He walked up to me and checked his clipboard and nodded.

"You'll be needing a leg cast and some heavy bandaging. We'll get you set up with some crutches right away." He smiled fakely at me and then began talking again. "Oh! And important question, are in a relationship with the blue haired girl? Because she came in saying she was your girlfriend and I let her in because of that. I just need conformation."

WHAT? LAPIS LAZULI. Came to the hospital for me? AND SAID SHE WAS MY GIRLFRIEND? No... something's wrong... 

I looked up at Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl and they all shrugged their shoulders with a sheepish smile.

"Um..." I was in the middle of something I've never been in before. So I just said the first thing that came to my little head.

"Yes. She is."

My friends looked at me in pure horror and Amethyst mouthed to me the words, what the hell, P?

I looked at Lapis in the corner of the hospital room, and she just gave me a stupid smirk and then looked away again.

That was the longest she's ever looked at me in years.
