Did your classmates and teacher ever surprise you on your birthday? Well, that happened to me. Pretty weird, huh? Well, it's not your birthday everyday...
Nearly a month after the Parade of Nations, my birthday came. My mom woke me up by saying, "Happy Birthday, Mia!" at 6:30.
"It's really my birthday?" I asked.
"Yea!"

"Girls, at lunch, we are going out to get ornaments for the Christmas tree." Ms. Grace said during homeroom. For the month of December, a giant Christmas tree was situated in the front hall.
"Where are we gonna get the ornaments?" I asked, but Ms. Grace would say no more. And so I went on with my daily morning schedule. At lunchtime, all of us gathered in the front hall and waited for Ms. Grace. Soon, she arrived.
"Are you girls ready?" She asked.
"Yeah!" We all chorused.
"Let's go." Ms. Grace said as she led us out. We only walked for about five minutes when Ms. Grace suggested that we stop by a restaurant to eat lunch. I heaved a sigh of relief as I heard my stomach growl in anger.
The minute we got inside, Ms. Grace and the other seventh grade girls burst into singing 'Happy Birthday'. I dropped my mouth in shock. My eyes must've been deceiving me.
"Wait...so this was actually a surprise?" I asked. I couldn't believe it. My teacher actually cared about me enough to take me to a surprise lunch on my birthday. And if that wasn't enough, my seventh grade friends were totally on board with it.
Maybe there was an advantage to having only five girls in the class. Ms. Grace would be able to get to know each one of us on a deeper level. She also knew the kind of stuff we were interested in. For instance, Brittany and Kirsten were very sporty, while I was artsy and loved drawing manga.
"Oh, yes, Mia! And a happy birthday to you and Kate!" Ms. Grace answered as all of us started chowing down our food.
Oh, and the ornament? Well, to tell you the truth, we never got an ornament. Ms. Grace only said that so she can throw a birthday lunch for Kate and I.

Author's Note: If there's one thing that's true, it's that I think Star Wars: Sith Rising is actually much better than this. I know I'm mentioning Sith Rising many times, but believe me, it's the only complete story I have on here.
What happened during your 13th birthday? Let me know in the comments below.
