Eventually, everything fell into place for me. When Raven said I'd damn near be raising Eden she was right.

I understood Hadia's shoulder and arm were fucked up, but she showed no interest in Eden what so ever. His first few days home she was interested in him and tried to be a mother, but once she realized how much work it took to actually be a mother she stopped caring.

"Xabrien please go get the baby." I mumbled trying to sleep.

The whole point in him coming over today was for me to get some sleep. I was so damn tired. I had school, therapy for my fucked up ass leg, I got a job at Baskin Robbins, but wasn't on the schedule, taking care of Eden and I had to tutor again.

It wasn't even late, it was only 6:00 something. But I really needed a fucking nap and Eden had the habit of staying up.

"Alright baby I got it." He sighed.

He was trying to go to sleep as well. I didn't understand why Hadia didn't try to get him for herself. She would lay in bed and listen to him scream and holler before actually getting off her ass and seeing what was wrong with him.

A few minutes later X came back into my room with all of Eden's stuff and huffed as he climbed into my bed.

"What's wrong?" I asked him sitting up.

"Hadia fucking left him in there by himself. She gone."

I shook my head and sighed. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.

"Give him here." I mumbled.

"I got it baby, go to sleep."

"He's gonna keep screaming." I said to X who was testing Eden's bottle on his arm to see if it was warm enough.

"No he won't. He like me."

"You checked his diaper?"

"Yeah, I did that first." X said to me.

X popped Eden's bottle into his mouth and he shut right up. I smiled a little watching them interact with each other. It was beautiful to me. Sometimes I was a little overprotective towards Eden and Xabrien would just laugh at me.

I never wanted to let him do everything for Eden. I was possessive. I didn't want anything to happen to my nephew. I really loved Eden like he was my own.

"I just remembered I have to fill out my FASFA form by tomorrow." I groaned. "Scoot over."

"Where you going?" He asked.

"It's outside in my rental." I informed him.

My insurance covered a rental instead of getting me a brand new car. They were going to just do the work on the body and make sure it was all good. The engine didn't take any damage.

"You wanna take Eden and I go down and get it?" He asked.

"Na, I can do it." I informed him.

I grabbed my crutches and started to hobble to the stairs.

My mom started to work doubles to cover the hospitals bills and my daddy got a second job. Xabrien could've slept here tonight and they wouldn't have even known. But I didn't really want him to. He just wanted to come over and make sure everything was okay with me.
