"Oh, come on, he was probably just screwing with you," Roman says while scrolling through his phone. He's sitting at the chairs by the kitchen counter, the chair spun around to face Niall who's sitting at the corner of his couch. They have the old Teen Titans show playing from Netflix. It was supposed to be a joke, but after an episode or two before Roman had the chance to change it to The Walking Dead, Niall told him to leave it on.

"I mean, that's always a possibility but he genuinely looked disappointed when he told me how his life pretty much sucks," Niall says. The whole time he had been telling Roman about his encounter with Calvin at the beach, Niall had the image of Calvin walking beside him across the sand, the blank look that always captured him like dried paint against a canvas etched inside his head. "Everyone's life sucks. Life is full of disappointment."

"I get that, really, but there's something that isn't right, you know? Like... he could be attempting suicide right now and we'd never know until later."

Roman's eyes widen a bit before he starts laughing loudly. Niall just watches him until he calms down and even then, Roman still has a permanent wide smile on his face. "I think you're taking this shit way too far. You sound obsessed. Legit obsessed, dude. And he's fine. If he wasn't I think we'd be able to tell."

"Oh yeah, because the guy who wears all black constantly, walks around at fucking midnight, never leaves the house unless he has to... yeah he sounds perfectly fine. No need to worry about him," Niall says sarcastically. Roman doesn't catch the sarcasm, though.

"See? Now you're getting it."

Niall groans before getting off the couch and walking to the kitchen to get some water. Roman spins around in the chair so he's now facing Niall again. "I'm still worried though," Niall says quietly while looking down at the now full glass of water in his hands.

"Oh my god," Roman sighs, "How about this. I, myself, me, will go over there right now and ask him if he wants to kill himself. And if he says no, I will come back and say, 'I fucking told you so' and you cannot ask him out for the next two days. I know that is gonna be difficult for you, but man, I'm honestly concerned about you."

Niall had started ignoring him after the 'I told you so' part. He looks up at his friend. "Don't fucking dare. You're going to make him actually want to kill himself."

"Nope, it's final, I'm going over there," Roman says while ignoring Niall's useless pleads.

"He's going to think I sent you over there."

"Oh well, man," Roman tells him with a shrug. By now, he's already at the door, leaning against it with a smirk on his face. Niall sets his glass down on the counter, causing it to make a loud clanking noise against the marble. "Ro-"

But he's already out the door and making his way up to Calvin's door step. He has a smirk still plastered onto his face. He knows that the boy Niall is so fond of is fine, Calvin just doesn't like him. However, it would probably take a lifetime to make Niall understand that.

Roman knocks harshly on the door, wanting to know how it feels to be right for once. With Niall as his friend, it was hard for that to happen. "Niall I really-" Calvin's voice comes to a hault when he looks up from his feet and coming face to face with someone else.

He's seen Niall with this guy before. It's a surprise that he's the one who came over instead of the tall blond guy. Calvin looks over the boy before leaning against the door frame and saying, "May I help you?" His words had came out harsher than he intended.
