Chapter 1 - Hole in the wall

"Mom?"

Looking before my eyes was my mother crushed by a rock from the wall the huge titan caused.

-----Back..before it all started-----

"(Y/N) Come down stairs for breakfast dear." My mother called out.

I slightly opened my eyes, the sun was shining through the window at my face. Hearing the people outside cheer and the kids running around, having no idea what the world has become. My (S/C) soft feet touched the wooden floor and pressed upon it, hearing the everyday creaks around the house. I walked over to my dresser and pulled out the short drawer, showing the little clothes I had. I chose the beige trousers with the brown tunic. Looking at myself through the mirror, I ran my fingers through my (H/L) (H/C) silky hair. I dressed into the outfit I picked out and slid my feet inside my short brown slippers. I looked back to the mirror, I put my hair in a/an (Favorite hairstyle). Feeling Satisfied, I headed downstairs and found my mom sitting at the table, eating her food. I smiled and sat beside her looking at the delicious plate she made me. We don't get the fancy food the superior eats, but anything will do as long as our stomach's are full. I ate a piece of the wheat bread and took a sip of water.

"(Y/N), Will your go shopping with me today, I have to get more food for us and you an outfit." She said.

I nodded as I took another bite of my wheat bread, finishing it off. I got our plates and put them on the counter, ready for wash.

"Meet me in the food area, while I get the house settled." She said.

Nodding again, I opened the front door and closed it behind me as I walked out.

"Hey! Watch out!" A voice yelled, heading my way. I looked to my left and saw a boy charging at me alongside with a girl behind him with a red scarf. I couldn't move at the sudden action, He then ended up bumping into me causing me to fall on the ground and him landing on top of me. Looking into his eyes, He had green sharp eyes. He had brownish hair flowing back as the wind blew.

"I-I'm sorry.." He said as he got up and reached out his hand to me.

I reached my hand out to his and he gently took it, lifting me up, His hand was so soft but yet masculine. Looking up at him, He was smiling, I couldn't help but smile back.

"Hello, I never seen you around, My name is Eren and this is Mikasa." As he said pointing to the girl beside him. She smiled too looking at me, I gave her a cherished look and waved.

"H-H-Hi..My name is (Y/N)." I never spoke to often so it was hard for me to talk.

"They're back!" A guy yelled as he ran past us.

What are they talking about?

"Come on mikasa!" Eren said as he brushed beside me and ran past me, following the guy. Mikasa went along with him, her beautiful red scarf flowing in the wind. I was curious about what their talking about, Who's back? I slowly ran behind them, Keeping my distance, Trying not to get to close. As I turned the 2nd corner, I noticed a big crowd. Looking around for a gap to see what's going on, finding one within seconds I looked at the men and women passing them. They looked injured and beaten, they must be the ones defending the outer walls. The people were complaining and commenting as they passed, Their expressions were saddening but yet calm. Remembering what my mom said, I hurried over to the food area and saw her picking out fruit, veggies and bread.

I ran to her with a sad expression, Showing her I was sorry.

She laughed, "Its okay (Y/N), Just carry the basket so we can shop"

She handed me the basket and looked on the counter. "(Y/N).." My mom said, She turned around and placed something onto my hair. She took a mirror and showed me what she placed, Its was a beautiful hair clip. I smiled at myself and hugged her.

"I love you (Y/N).." She said as she lifted up my chin revealing my (E/C) eyes.

Yeah...I love you too mom.

Before I could finally say something to her, I heard screaming and people pointing up.

"What is that?!?" A lady said.

"I-Its a titan, But they are not suppose to reach over the wall." The man said.

Then I heard a loud sound and rocks were flying everywhere, Hitting the ground, People, and houses. I I ran behind the wooden counter and looked up to see the titan gone. Soon a medium sized rock went past me, I followed its movement. I turned around and found my mother in its way, I looked at her face, it was trembling.

"Mom!" I yelled at her.

But it was to late, the rock hit and crushed her to a wall. Blood was everywhere around her. I ran to her, Her face was mashed in and blood was running down her arm to her hand...

"Mom?"

The only person I had, That only one who loved me eternally, was dead before me.

I sat beside her and held her rough hands. I heard loud thumps as I seen two titans standing 4 houses apart from me. Before they could see me I got up and ran away. I turned corners to find a way to the other end of the wall where other people were. I heard screaming nearby, I wanted to help others in any way I can. I ran toward the screaming and saw Eren And Mikasa, I ran over to them and seen their mom under piles of lumber. Eren was trying to pull her out but got frustrated when he couldn't. His eyes were soaked and red, Mikasa was tearing down also. I felt there was a thumping nearby as a titan approached us. A man with a uniform ran past us to try to fight it, but he couldn't.

"Take them and go!" The mom said.

"Mom! NO!" Eren screamed.

The man grabbed Eren and Mikasa while I ran along. I didn't want to look back, I know shes gone. The man led us to boats, holding Eren and Mikasa's hand, I pulled then onto it. Hearing screaming again and countinous thumping I seen a built titan with silver hair crash into the wall. The boat started moving away as we saw and hear the people cry in the distance.

I remembered when that day changed my whole life.
